What is a turtle roll?
The turtle roll, also known as the Eskimo roll, is a surfing technique that allows you to get past the breaking waves in challenging conditions, especially when it's closing out and the waves hit the overhead mark.

Amazing. Very well done. I’ve been surfing 40 years & the duck dive (short board) and Turn Turtle (long board) are both a challenging learn. Each have their own nuisances & subtle differences. But your pushing a damn boat under a decent sized breaking wave. Bravo !!!!

I think it's a game. If a kayaker wanted to go through a breaking wave, he would find the moment of breaking the wave and go through it quickly. The broken wave is much weaker.

It's the Go-Pro Effect. It makes everything look way smaller than it actually is. I've skated a 12ft bowl but the Go-Pro made it look like 5ft. Go-Pros are shitty cameras tbh.

This was early in the year. Maybe 6-7 Celcius. It's between 4-13 Celsius in the year in this area. Not much. Need drysuit ;-)
