Empire Earth influenced me in so many ways tbh. As a young kid our whole family had to live with my grandfather cuz of serious obstacles that came up, which was like 2005 or 6 maybe? I was so young that my memories of that time only come in bits n pieces - This game being one I could nvr ever forget or let go. At such a young age I was using the Scenario Editor to make my own maps, playing Sims 2 on the same XP computer time to time. Thank you EE for giving me my passion for history, passion for worldbuilding and LOVE for RTSs as a whole ❤️

I relate, this game taps into a certain nostalgia for me. I remember how poor my family was and we didn't have internet either in 2007 but we had a computer and my grandfather actually installed this game. A very strange man, but he gave me something to hold on to here as an anchor for my childhood memories.

One of the best strategy games of all time, goes up there with AoE. The later iterations were not so good anymore, they lacked the heart and soul and that scale. Miss the days where we used to play this game with a couple of friends pitted against hardest AI who wiped our armies of hundreds with ease... Good times :)

i also miss the old games, exactly like you, AoE, EE, Red Alert 2, Diablo 2, cs 1.6, Battlefield 2.. i was like 10 years old when i played those games but i already knew it was something really special. But i enjoy games nowadays alot too. Like League of Legends is so entertaining game and Rust also.. u just have to look what u enjoy and keep playing :D there are so great games out there right now^^

Empire Earth is a much better game at being atmospheric and "grand". Also has better campaigns if you ask me (could be controversial opinion). AoE is the better "esports" title and "strategy" game for multiplayer.

Sometimes man, some games are just in a position where the older versions are better. For example comparing Diablo 2 and Diablo 3. Diablo 2 was waayyy better. Ive never played any EE above EE1 but I am sure EE1 will still be the best version

I may sound pessimistic and A LOT cynical, but I think, IMHO, that war will always be present in human nature. Why? Because we're animals. Technologically advanced, more rational and complex-communicating animals, but animals nonetheless. We can only try to mitigate this instinct, this urge to kill ourselves by deciding how and when to suppress it through rationality, maybe deciding to unleash it only when our own life is at risk, letting it take over us only to fulfill our preservation instinct instead to spread it through the world for mere money, but sadly we cannot fight it. When we will succeed in accomplishing such a goal, I think we won't be anymore humans, nor animals.
