Thanks for the video! Learning Manual D duct designs with a spreadsheet certainly does help with understanding the theory behind residential duct design! Very glad we use computerized software like Wrightsoft nowadays.

Im using wrightsoft but wright soft doesnt give you exact duct meaaurments according to them. it gives you worse case scenerio what do think

Only problem I see is in duct sizing using the largest size whether for htg or clg CFM. You can't size duct for both if the manual J calls for different volumes unless you are going to do an air balance every time the season changes from heating to cooling and vice versa. Realistically, homeowners are not going to re balance every 6 months, so you only design duct for heating or cooling based on climate. If designed for primarily heating, you get what you get in cooling, and vice versa. Awesome info though.
