if Charcoal filter/ Carbon filter is available in the chimney then , it will be Ductless chimney. Many ducted chimney also come with the provision for carbon filter. It means a duct chimney also use as ductless by using carbon filter in it. But online it is very difficult to check the type of chimney, because most of the chimney are ducted. so better to buy offline for ductless chimney.

10 to 12 feet is good for better performance. Yes You can try to use exhaust fan to increase the suction power. But honestly speaking, I have not experienced this type of arrangement till now. Chimney + exhaust fan together. Hole size is also important, 6 to 9 inch is good. Please share your experience after installation.
