Being OCD I’d replace the Tee on floor sweep with a Y and a 45 (probably a bit tight at the elevation). You will do well to add the down draft chute behind the Kapex as the small pipe is choking system on it’s own. Clamp pipe is definitely the way to go. Great job.

Good to see you've made progress on your collection system after the collector debacle. Floor sweeps are so awesome. I splurged and have 3 in my shop.

Three? !!!! Now I'm jealous,. I am thinking I want at least one more so I have one on each side of the shop

@@Benham_Design exactly what I did, 1 on each wall with tools. I'm soooooo done with vacuuming and bending over. Killer set up with the snap lock.

I really want one of those sweep ports. I used togo to a barber that had one and he'd just sweep the hair right into it. Was pretty slick. He's also vacuum your head after a cut so you could back to work without being itchy.

When I was a kid my barber vacuumed my head as well. I haven't seen anyone do that in years.

What brand of snap lock tubing did you use?

I got it from blast gates .com, I have one piece from Nordfab and as far as I can tell they are identical.

So did you go with Nordfab or Carolina air? When we build our retirement house soon, I'll be building a new shop...definitely going steel.

I got these from blast gates .com. They seemed to be the cheapest and appear to be the same quality as nordfab. They snapped together with the one piece of norfab I had.

@@Benham_Design I am finally getting my ducting set-up this weekend after receiving my order back in May...been a summer of unexpected family medical issues. I also ordered mine from Blast Gates and couldn't be happier with the customer service. I had multiple back-and-forth emails with the sales guy until we finally got my order nailed down. I have never seen Norfab in person (only on KZbin) but can state that all of my Blast Gate pipe and connections seem as heavy gauge as I would want. I had to laugh at you putting the first connection together. The clamp-together system is really the way to go but the flange ends and the clamp does not really have a self-aligning feature so it can be "fun" sometimes to align them by yourself.
@Benham_Design2 жыл бұрын
Lol, yep the number of F bombs I had to edit out. 😜 But all and all I'm happy with the ducting once up, as long as you don't fully unlatch the clamp, it is easy to tweek the alignment to get everything just where you want it.

what was the total cost of all that ductwork?
