Pop rocks are so fun! Who doesn’t love having crackling candy popping in your mouth lol. I went to the store pretty much everyday as a kid with my friends. Yup I bought bazooka Joe, the string liquorice, hostess chips and penny candy. It was a good trip to the store that cost less than a buck. 👍😊🇨🇦

My favorite candy growing up was Heath, and it still is my favorite. It's similar to Skor but better, lol. When at the Hershey Store in Niagara Falls, I found a really good Hershey bar with Skor pieces in it. It is really good. I bought one and really liked it. Before I left for home I stopped back and bought more. They had a deal, buy 4 get 1 free. I'm down to my last one and getting worried. I don't think they sell it here in the US, so I might have to wait til my next visit to the Falls before I can have one again. Do you remember the surprise bags all the Niagara Falls souvenir shops had back in the day? We called them grab bags and they weren't bags. They were boxes usually wrapped in wrapping paper with question marks all over it. It was also written on it whether is was for a girl or a boy. I have such great memories of my parents buying us some grab bags then going back to the motel to open them up. Usually they were just cheap Niagara Falls souvenirs that I suspect were not selling well in the store so they just threw it in the surprise boxes to get rid of the inventory.

I don't remember those Thomas, maybe living here I just never got any. Do you still have some of them?? I don't think I've ever had a Heath bar. Sounds pretty good though!

I figured you probably hadn't heard of the grab bags. Living in the area, I'm sure you didn't go to many souvenir shops. I swear, I think every shop had grab bags. They slowly phased out and the only place that had them in the recent past was Souvenir Mart on Victoria where the old Sauer's Drug Store used to be. They had grab bags down in the basement section up until around 3 or 4 years ago. Unfortunately, I don't have any. The contents were usually so lame, I'd give them to a niece or nephew or they'd end up in the trash. But still, it was fun opening them to see what was inside. Hopefully, you'll be able to find a Heath bar. If you like Skor, I bet you'll also love Heath.
