Gore's concept in both visual and canon lore is soo cool. While it's a known feature that monsters are related to each other the Lore behind Gore evolving into Shagaru is one of my favorite things they have ever done. not to mention just being cool monsters with great gear.

Honestly I found shagaru magala cooler in design and definitely in fight. I wasn’t full impressed with gore’s fight boring and although his design isn’t bad it’s definitely not as cool as shagaru’s. But yeah the lore is pretty amazing for a monster hunter game plus there is the fact gore grows into a really cool monster is great.

@@ohmygahdbilly Honestly I don't know If Gore himself could ever make me angry. I got really pissed off in my first few fights vs him in Sunbreak since they broke some of the old dodge routes. Mostly it was just the Citadel not really have many areas suitable to fight him in that make him hard at all. That's my experinece with him in this game anyway.

@@snowwden5301 I can’t speak for his difficulty in rise since I don’t have sun break yet/ the game has been really really easy for me so far, not sure if that’s because I’ve been playing these games for nearly 10 years or if my suspicions are right and rise is genuinely just far too easy. but he was pretty miserable for me back in 4 (mind you not having a proper right stick couldnt have helped) and I vividly remember getting steam rolled for a solid while by him. Either way my love for Maggie doesn’t come from the fight itself as much as it comes from it’s place in my journey with the franchise, he was the only roadblock I’ve ever really had other than great jaggi, or that I can still significantly remember. I refused to fight him again until I had to in gen ult out of fear, but once I did it felt like overcoming my arch nemesis and I realised I had hit the point in monster Hunter where I wasn’t scared of anything anymore. I really doubt he’s going to be difficult at all anymore but it just hasn’t been the same without my favourite blind rapscallion, he showed me how far I came since booting up a random copy of 2 I found in the attic so he’ll always be special to me. Also I change my mind this game is absolutely easier wirebug is hilariously op

Yeah 4th gen was great. Glavenus ended up being Max's favorite monster in Iceborne, then Rise came along and Valstrax became his new favorite the moment he fought it. Now I'm pretty certain he really likes Astalos and Gore Magala.

One thing I really like about Rise compared to World is that it has monsters that could not have been added to World due to technical limitations that the devs talked about.

Pretty much 90% of base World's roster was basic dragons, lizards, and dinos. It was mostly tame and boring and hardly any variety to make up for it. Iceborne started uping the addition of the more exotic types and a tad bit more variety of monster types. But it still was only scratching the surface of how crazy monsters can really get in MH games. Rise easily has one of the best rosters between base and expansion and we havnt even had the whole year of title update monsters yet. So it only gets better.

Usually as a rule with my group, if its a first time hunt with a new monster, we don't grab rides so we get to experience the full fight and make it more challenging for us but I understand when you ain't got all that time to do so. I like the little arc Fiorayne has where she thinks she has to put herself in lethal danger to serve her country when really its the people she has to worry about. So seeing stuff like Galleus shouting at her to remind her to not be foolish and risky, then the Princess hugging her. It was actually sweet. Kingdoms can be rebuilt, its the people that matter.

Dodge bolt with 1 evade extender and some evade window if you need it, helps a huge amount. Bow requires more patience in Rise I've found

See, it's the opposite for me. Gore was kinda annoying, but Shagaru is right now my favorite monster to fight, though I'm a SA user. Anyway, take 5-10 minutes to run around the map and gather some spiribirds. In your case all but the attack boosting ones will be necessary. Max health is basically mandatory, but you can find a lot of green spiribirds in the western part of the map (also, the Lanternbug). Shagaru has probably the longest windups for its attacks out of all monsters. Get yourself Evade Extender +3 and you should be able to evade pretty much any attack it has. Either that or get Malzeno chest and waist for full Blood Rite, and Partbreaker +2. You should be able to get by with just the waist, but maybe slap on an extra Partbreaker jewel or two somewhere.

Gore Magala is my flagship monster. I know for a lot it’s why when they see Narcaguga they freak cause he was their flagship, I could never get hyped. Then when I saw gore coming out I was like a little kid, I picked up monster hunter to start grinding to get to him. This is and always will be my number one.

Rise was my first MH, however I don't think I would care that much about Magna's appearance in future games. Only played Rise and World thus far, but the moment I saw Valstrax fights in Generations, it won me over as one of my favorites, and that was even before fighting it in Rise. Seregios is also now one of my favorites after fighting it in Sunbreak.

Gore Magala and Shagaru Magala has always been and will forever be my favorite monsters, the fact that you know little to know info back when it first appeared in MH4, and then you later learn after it shed it black scales, revealing its golden scales and that it is an Elder Dragon that would bring calamity to the world, not to mention plaguing monsters with the Frenzy Virus and some of them became Apex Monsters because of the virus. I am so happy they brought back Gore Magala is so exciting

Btw Seregios is a flagship monster. He is the flagship of MH4G. Gore Magala is the flagship of MH4. This is similar to how MH3’s flagship is Lagiacrus and MH3U is Brachydios. The problem is, in the west MH4U used the MH4 cover art and opening scene so a lot of people don’t know Steve is a flagship. And the MH3U cover art is Azure Rathalos for some reason. And funnily enough, Gore/Shagaru and Seregios are by far my favorites

I've had double Bazelgeuse mantles and double final boss mantles on the first hunt for each. Though, it also took me six or seven hunts to get a Lunagaron Frost Jewel, so hard to say whether rare drops are more likely or if I was just lucky. And talk about lucky with the final boss, since every one of its weapons requires a mantle to forge, plus a mantle for the leg armor.

I've been trying to get a dragonsphire from the final boss, and I slayed it 8 times so far, and not a single one(not gonna spoil it just in case). Meanwhile my friend, with his RNG luck, got it twice from 5 slays. It's the same with gore magala. He got SIX mantles from around 8 slays. I got one from 10. ):

Most do I feel, but sometimes when I watch his livestreams, seeing him and his friends make the most of Rise's features and mechanics and dog pile on the monster with like two wyvern rides and having it toppled for a good minute or two makes me think "man he can't appreciate how cool this monster is".

Shagaru had a rather lackluster death for me. He had fled to sleep and right after I finished setting my bombs I notice a Tigrex a zone away...Ride it over for the wake up hit and he died getting stomped on by a Tigrex while exploding

I wish the meme of people not giving a shit about the stories of these games wasn't so prevelant. Like, I want them to give a shit. This story was nice to experience as a single player hunter but the dudes here kinda just brush it off and make fun of the game's attempts. Half of what made Gore Magala so cool was its implementation in MH4 and 4U. I for one was very happy with the story and the characters in Sunbreak. They actually do stuff as opposed to the laughable attempt that base Rise had. I didn't skip through every text box like I have in the past.

Story is mostly optional in Monster Hunter. Most of it is presented through character dialouge that changes between hunts. You don't have to do it, and just doing hunts back to back is great but you do miss out on things like why do these people even care about one another.

You got hit with frenzy virus when fighting gormagala. There's a bar on the top If you do enough damage before it fills up you get a damage buff. If you don't it's the opposite you don't get red damage and everything hits harder

That damn bullfango is the strongest and worst monster from monster hunter one, we didn't have anything to cancle a motion except rolling so they were the worst and they have a ton of holes AND THEY WILL STUN YOU. then the monster you're hunting hits you with a MAX Kamehameha. GGs
