This is my favorite song by my guy Bo so far🔥🔥 I’m not sure if he was meant to be a comedian..a musician..A writer or all the above 👍🏽

Try "I`m Bo Yo" it`s very old, seams he was just born to do both. Might be so old he is the OG you tube rapper.

@@TommysimonsenBo Burnham is factually a first generation KZbin star. He is literally an OG of KZbin. In many ways, and OG internet star. Tough trail to blaze. His insight is profound

So during the covid lockdown, instead of going on the new comedy tour he was thinking of, he went into his back yard guest house, and made the "Inside" album over the rest of 2020. He did all the recording, lighting and set decoration all by himself in one room. It's an absolute masterpiece front to back.

This song hit me like a ton of bricks when Inside first came out during Covid. And it still does.

It was a song made during the COVID period when we all were sent home.

My interpretation on the "We're going to go where everybody knows" is self isolation. Where we're going to lock ourselves back into our own personal bubbles. All alone in the place that in our own experience, we are very familiar with
@ANunes06Ай бұрын
There's also a part of the construction that you can read as "We're going to go where everybody knows everybody." which I interpret as him trying to calm himself down before a show by reminding himself that the show isn't about HIM. Edit: I think he's clever enough that he probably meant both of those things at the same time.

You should definitely watch the whole special beginning to end. This song has a huge impact when you just spent a whole hour with him alone in his room.

First time i saw this song i was going through a depression myself. i started bawling.
@TheSomeoneNamed2 күн бұрын
The other thing is: he places his own laugh tracks and crowd sounds strategically. It just makes the outside view of him seem so much more suffocating. He’s telling a traumatic story but he’s being “laughed at” because he’s a comedian.

It’s crazy to me how beautiful this song is despite being a comedic musical expression. It’s gorgeous as a sound. This is one of my favorite songs and I listen to it on repeat on bad days.

This is THE Covid song that explains in perfect detail what we were all going through as we were locked "Inside" and said goodbye to real people and "Welcome to the Internet" instead.

My introduction to Bo was through an article about the panic disorder he suffers from and believe me I know only to well how decimated you become with severe panic disorder. It's a nightmare and after 38 years of dealing with it, it's absolutely horrific what it does to you. Yes, I understand that which you speak of only to well

Watch his Kanye rant. it was five years before this and was his last time performing due to his panic attacks, which he references here. It is a prerequisite to this special, and especially this song.

In anxiety and depression the act and performance you put out for people on a daily basis is utterly exhausting. When watching this, i feel seen and, in a strange way, peaceful.
@BLate997Ай бұрын
I think “go where everybody knows everybody” is him going on stage. The crowd has an expectation with his act and a parasocial relationship with his stage presence. He knows what the crowd should be like given his many live shows and what they expect from him as a performer. I am probably wrong, but that’s how I interpreted it 🤷♂️
@OchoChino28 күн бұрын
So i always viewed this as depression and anxiety meets schizo and manic Where everybody knows everybody could also be where everybody knows pause everybody knows And you can read into those 2 phrases multiple ways
