I had a boss that wanted me to kiss her ass and since I wasn't licking her boot like all the other employees she tried to find reasons to write me up to get me fired. I went and took a demotion with a pay cut... The next week we were prepping for inventory so I watched people just running around with a bleep laser hitting tags and counting stuff and they made double than what I was making doing less work than I was. The next day I applied and they asked if I could show up the next day...well I was scheduled to work the other job...so I said... Suck it 😆😆😆 Just didn't show up for work and my old boss tried to stiff me out of my last paycheck. You close one door another one opens...always look for growth or a back up cause people be holding you hostage and keeping you stuck thinking you can't go nowhere else...that's an illusion. Now I own my own business and work for myself and my old bosses business went bancrupt. That's how it be going 😊 Keep it moving and keep improving

That's how I was. Swear to God that was me. I was training new guys that were making more than me. I wanted a $1 raise just to get me up to speed after being there for 8 years. They gave me .35¢. I was hot. Put in a months notice and told them they could change their mind at any time and I'd stay. They didn't. I left and found a much better job that pays me well. I did an extra 50 shop hours above my 140 shop hours for the week and only made 3 dollars per hour extra. I was mad too when I got my check. Beat my a$$ extra hard to produce those numbers. Worked as a painter in a body shop 20 years ago. If the job called for 15 hours paint time ,I could usually do it in about 6 hours and get paid for 15 hours. This is how I could bring home a good check. Above 125 shop hours per week. The tax man left me with less then minimum wage for the extra work. What a rip.

This is why selling your time is a bad proposition for blue collar work, because you get penalized twice. The first penalty is that you're selling your most valuable asset (your time) for little return. The second penalty is Uncle Sam is going to hit you hard for those extra hours, above and beyond the regular work week. I learned that shit early on, and I guess you did, too.

Took years to develope these skills. So no one is handing us any thing. The national average used to be 67 shop hours completed. I got up to 200 shop hours a week. Made me sick 3 times in my career working so hard and fast.
