Wouldn't two instances be enough if you just could use a HANN window instead of a half cosine?? Adding two Hann windows that are 180° out of phase result in a perfectly flat amplitude = without amplitude modulation. --> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hann_function I am not so familiar with MAX and unfortunately don't know how to build an oscillator with a hanning window output function in MAX, but i am quite sure there is a way.

Actually you create a "new object" (new "sub project"). That means you can save time to create the poly~ object.

Hi, this has been an awesome tutorial! I've really struggled and hated MaxMSP since I started to use it for uni, but this tutorial actually made it fun and interesting. Thank you for all your detailed help and commentary! I was just wondering, do you think there would be a viable way to use this patch in presentation mode? Like maybe make the phasor controllable via a switch of some form? Thanks again!

I can't get that tremolo "warbling" as you call it to go away. I've gone through the patch twice from a clean slate and I've got exactly what you have. The only difference is that I'm on Max 7.

sadly, I can only get Max to find your external when I don't add the tilde to the end of the name. but then it doesn't quite work, as one might expect...

Hey dude, I have been checking your tutorials for a while and I must say that they are really entertaining and helpful, thank you for sharing your max/msp expertise with the people of the web! Unfortunately, I tried this patch on max 6.1 and somehow couldnt make it work I do not know what is wrong, every connection, every object and every number seems fine. Do you have an idea, what might have gone wrong ?

alp seyrekbasan I'm using Max 7 and my sound is coming out without being shifted. Was this your problem/did you solve it?

Austin Dunn I do not remember if i was able to get it working, my problem was simply with patching things into the poly~ object :/ I simply moved on to other tutorials didn't really spend too much time tinkering around and solving it. I am sure there are other patches around that does the job ! cycling74 might be a good start!

hmm anyway i just saved the patch for the poly in the same folder and it works out fine. the poly~ part at least
