Seven Sisters Waterfall (Nohsngithiang Falls)
Also known as Mawsmai Falls, the Seven Sisters Waterfall is a seven-segmented wonder located just 1 kilometre south of Mawsmai village in the East Khasi Hills district. With an impressive height of 315 meters (1,033 feet) and an average width of 70 meters (230 feet), this waterfall is among the tallest in India. During the rainy season, the waterfall comes alive, plunging over the limestone cliffs of the Khasi Hills and creating a mesmerizing spectacle. The vibrant colors of the setting sun illuminate the water, making it a sight to behold.
Kynrem Waterfall
Situated 12 kilometres from Cherrapunji in the East Khasi Hills district, Kynrem Falls is nestled within the lush greenery of Thangkharang Park. It stands as the seventh highest waterfall in India, cascading from a height of 305 meters (1,001 feet) in a magnificent three-tiered formation. The waterfall spreads into two streams, merging as they flow down the last leg of the third tier, creating a majestic and powerful flow.
