Dudhsagar Falls in Monsoon 2022 | Kulem to Castle Rock Train Ride | Amaravati Express

July 2022. Braganza Ghats.
Another amazing journey on another beautiful route through the Western Ghats. The Braganza Ghats takes one across the mighty Dudhsagar Waterfalls, the third highest waterfalls in India at ~320m. It is a four-tiered waterfall and the name comes from this Monsoon sight - like a sea of milk falling from the mountains. As the avoidable mess that is electrification takes hold swiftly, a trip was very much needed before the landscape and views get ruined forever.
This journey was on board the Vasco-Shalimar Amaravati Express on a Sunday, which explains the crowd.
Needless to say, peak monsoon is the best time to visit here though treks are banned whenever there is a risk of landslides due to incessant heavy rains. The water flow visible is after a few days of significantly reduced rainfall.

People still do trekking on railway tracks to see the waterfalls? If yes which station they get down and start the trek? I have done 2 times trek like this but heated they stopped this railway tracks trekking.

Trains have to slow down I guess while climbing up the Braganza Ghats enroute to dudhsagar falls.
