Dudley had so much talent. Musician, comedian, actor. Good to see him on such good form here before he became ill. It wasn't long after that he started to show symptoms of the awful disease that eventually took him.

That run of improvised gags that starts with "concertos.. concerti" then goes to "Tescos .. Tesci" then on to declining the verb "to Tesc", then "rejected name" then "Don't Cry for Me..". So impressive. It's that intelligent funny English wit you see in Cook and Cleese and Fry.

@jameswebb45932 жыл бұрын
@@simontaylor2319 I heard him commenting once about performing a concert recital . Bach or somebody. He said that hours , weeks maybe months of practice was needed. Dudley was not that type of musician , the reason that many first class players delve into Jazz , Oddly later in their career the lure of classical music attracts them . Oscar Peterson and Sir George Shearing are just two that could adapt.

His Hollywood friends did not desert him. When it was learned that his 4th wife was about to release a book accusing him of all sorts of perversions and abuse, his friends rallied around to defend him, quick to say that SHE was the one on drugs always looking to make money in nefarious ways. He was greatly loved by all who knew him and they made it clear that he was a humble and cherished friend.
