Man, I'm not gay, but, I really appreciate the slow jams that Boy George & Culture Club created. I almost forgot about this jam. Dang, why aren't there any songs like that today on mainstream radio. I mean, many of today's songs are either over-sexual, extremely violent, or extremely hateful. Let's bring back the old school songwriting and musicianship and blend it in with today's technology. That's what was so great about the music of the 80's. They were still songwriters/musicians.

This song is so deep and beautiful. Boy George is a creative genius. His lyrics are so intelligent, clever, and provocative. This song should have been a much bigger hit but unfortunately came out when Wham first arrived on the scene and were getting all the attention. My vote goes for Boy over George Michael any day. GM has a good voice and writes good songs as well but he just does have presence or ability to be intersting like Boy George. Waking Up With The House On Fire was a great CC album.

I think Mistake Number Three is selling out to fit "the mold" of what society deems to the way a person should be, whether thats marrying a woman even though you're gay or whatever...And it's Number Three cuz its the final nail in the coffin to losing ones soul or indiviuality, like Three Strikes and You're Out! Thats my take on it. Love the song

reached no.10 in canada, so at least it was a hit somewhere, i think it was going to be released in the uk, as they performed it on the bbctv show, the kenny everett show, christmas 1984, the meddle song only got to no.31, so they seem to have then scrapped anymore plans to release anything else off waking up with the house on fire.pity as its such an amazing song.
