All this reminds me, because of the harmonica, of a Manchester rhythm n blues band of the late-70s/earlt-80s, *The Cheaters* . Their vocal was closer to punk so it was a mixed influence, but r 'n' b comes closest. Obscure now. From their rare 1982 album *SWEAT IT OUT* 3 terrific tracks were: ' *Diplomat* ' .... ' *(I'm Ready for the) 21st Century* ' - - dystopian inventory of what you'd need to survive it... &: ' *Underground* ' - - about the hazards of London's tube travel. This one had an ironic catchphrase shouted in echo, once the call-out on every London tube train before the automated doors closed: *MIND THE DOOOORS!* London Underground changed the call to "Mind the gap," because a 1972 British horror film about 2nd generation cannibals existing in a real abandoned Underground station gave the tube a bad reputation. The only English words that the last surviving cannibal knew, from incessant repetition down the tunnels to the next station, was " *MIND THE DOOOOOOORS!* " Too much information? The film was *DEATH LINE* - - AKA in USA, *RAW MEAT* . Me & my pals snuck into this 'X' certificate horror film age 13 in November 1972 & had the time of our lives. Stepping out the cinema into the November night afterwards, of course we were shouting down Manchester streets, way ahead of the band: *MIND THE DOOOORS!* This was my intellectual background. Even today, all these decades later, I could bump into old pal David Jones & say, "Dave! do you remember *Death Line* ?" & Dave would be honor-bound to not just say but shout out loud no matter where we were: " *MIND THE DOOOOOOORS!* " *The Cheaters* , in homage to that great Donald Pleasence horror film, kept the phrase, *MIND THE DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORS!* throughout the song that listed a series of mishaps that brought London Underground into even more disrepute than the horror film. And the echoing last words as the song rattled off down the tunnel were, of course: *MIND THE DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORS!*
