You are the first person I have heard to say Yoda is the best counter to Vader. I figured that out a while ago and I have killed many overconfident Vaders. He is just perfect, applying constant pressure with dashes and using presence to escape the choice (and with that, a deadly combo.

Yeah for he is for sure the best counter. The only problem is that if Yoda is on the defensive and needs to back off then you are going to be in a pretty bad spot

Against all logic my main I play is Anakin. The most difficult part of using him is stamina and his bugged out heroic might, but this can be worked around with skill and the right cards. One of his cards I use is the one where it raises stamina conservation with the damage you deliver and I combine that with the card that raises base damage output to 150.

I love Ani when he works and I think he is still really good. To be honest the only hero in this list that is on a level below all the others is probably Kylo and even then he is still not very far behind. Anakin is super fun to play as especially with that satisfying damage combo

@@katana2140rey’s incredible stam and damage are so useful, and the chip damage is difficult against people with good dodges. For the most part it’s because she might have the best stam in the entire game.

@@xx_wasabi-_-xxgg you only really need so much stamina to be fair. Most of the time I don’t even think about my stamina in a duel anymore because I am able to automatically manage it well. It’s not going to make a difference if I can block a million hits or a billion hits because at that point they are both more than enough. Basically what I’m saying is the stamina is definitely good but not godly for dueling

Yoda mains rising! That's said I think anyone you dedicate time to is genuinely good. I main Maul and Yoda, but find Kylo to be quite good. But the best duelist has to be BB-9E. Luke can be easily countered

I have met exactly 5 grievous players that know how to hook + bunnyhop in the most annoying way. I have not beaten a single one. Grievous and yoda have an incredibly high skill ceiling, that's how I would put it.

This is... an interesting list to say the least. There's just one thing that could upset the rankings quite a bit. Ability parries. Take Rey for example, if you double parry with the second hit being the dash attack, you can combo that into a hookswing against a defenseless opponent. Or Maul's Choke parry animation cancel, giving you a free swing, saber throw and spin attack. These combos are known to eat hundreds of health points and all the practitioner needs to do is have parry timing down. You've shown Obiwan doing the lunge tech after his push, I can tell you that Luke can do the same with a parry push, or simply a repulse that connects. Imagine him getting free swings on a ragdolling enemy with a fully charged Intensify. Did you know that both Luke and Maul can damage a blocking opponent when they perform their dash if you just track them with your camera? Dooku can also parry with his Lightning Stun.

how do you get so good with sensitivity on controller? do you have different settings for heros or do you play this high with troopers?

I play with 100 sensitivity with saber heros and 75 with troopers. I also have auk assist off for when I play saber heros. The best way to get better at higher sensitivity os to just play with it on and you’ll get the handle of it

Vader doesn't need much of an explanation he's beyond op and is the best hero in 1v1, 2v2, 4v4, GA, CS (EVERY mode basically), he's also really easy to play Dooku should not be put any lower than 2nd, 3 dashes is broken in duelling, duellist and exposed weakness make his dps the best in the entire roster, his stamina is also good, health regen is also above average, but the best thing is his lightning. It does very good damage on it's own and is one of the easier abilitys to hit considering it counters: yoda dash, Luke dash, Luke repulse, anakin heroic might, obi wan rush and rey rush. Him just having the ability makes you unable to use most of your abilitys safely (just like Vader choke but worse) That's also a big reason for Obi Wan being good. With mind trick he just doesn't have to worry about and of that bs, his stamina is basically infinite, defensive rush is just a solid defensive and offensive ability, push is very good to counter things like frenzy or for predicting Maul dash for example, his health regen is the best in the game and he's by far the second tankiest character (he's literally designed for defense and Vader still does it better it's such bullsh*t lol) I'm not to sure about Grievous, Rey, Luke and Ani imo they can all be switched. Grievous abilitys aren't that crazy, thrust surge should never hit (not even with the unblockable tech) defensive rush is also bad (doesn't even block things like dashes), claw rush is the only good ability both offensively and defensively, it does good damage and is useful to regen health and stam, grievous stam is pretty bad but claw rush makes up for it, the reason Grievous is in 4 is because of his insane lightsaber damage and health/health regen, he's an absolute tank who does very good damage, his very fast jump swing is also very strong especially with the bunny hop tech (he is hard to play tho) Rey also has the advantage of having 3 dashes and her stam with insight is insane, the speed at wich her stam regens is also worth mentioning, health/health regen wise she's average but her parry-dash-swing combo does insane damage which is the best Part about her, mind trick isn't good at all tho (atleast on PC on console it's a bit better) Luke is really good in terms of the speed at which he swings and regens health/stam, the amount of health regen is very bad tho, his dash is very good to combo and pressure with (especially because of the dmg reduction card) but both his force ability aren't the best in my opinion, repulse can be good a lot of times but also terrible, it does a great job at countering frenzy or finishing someone off through their block but if you do it in the wrong moment you'll take a lot of damage which hurts Luke a lot because of his low health regen, and his push gives him no value if he hits it because the enemy just goes flying Anakin's attacking stam is so bad that he has to rely on his abilitys incredibly much, heroic might has the exact same issues as repulse and it doesn't even hit through block, his pull is very slow but better than Lukes push because he can combo of of it, and passionate strike is only good to finish a kill, don't get me wrong if he hits his combo he's very strong but it's to predictable because his gameplan is just to simple, his health is pretty good but it's not enough to make him better Maul should on paper be very good, his stamina is amazing, his health/health regen is good enough, his survivability with his choke and dash is amazing and his saber throw can hit people from behind allowing for good combos aswell as finishing someone off, the reason i put him so low is because he's so reliant on good internet, if it's just slightly laggy half his dashes won't register and hil lightsaber throw will be useless, he's only good because his kit synergizes really well and if he doesn't have that he becomes useless, even with good connection these bugs tend to happen a lot (at least for me) For Kylo, frenzy is good especially the 4 hit tech but it makes him an open target to cc, his pull aswell as his freeze suffer the same issue you can react to them no matter if he jumps or not, the reward for hitting them is also low because with freeze you only get one hit and same for his pull, his pull is a lot worse than Anakins (even more predictable, less initial damage, worse combo potential because Kylo's lightsaber damage isn't as good as Ani's and he doesn't have a good ability to follow it up with), in terms of stats he is extremely average The only good use for Yoda is to counter Vader (Vader still has a HUGE advantage but that's because he's busted) Yoda in terms of health and stamina is pretty average, his dps is terrible tho, he has by far the slowest attack speed, his push is just a worse version of Luke push, his health buff is actually very good, being able to free yourself from all cc effects is broken, his dash is weird, on the one side it's good because it goes through block and can combo into a swing but on the other side if they hit you during it which a lot of times the dash cancels and they can hit you again, the same thing happens with his swing, if we hit each other at the same time they can sometimes swing a again before Yoda can act, Yoda against dooku is also the worst matchup in the game because he kills you in 3 hits and sometimes gets free hits when he shouldn't get them Yes this is the longest comment i've ever written but I had nothing else to so why not. I'm not saying your list is 100% wrong (except for Dooku being in 4 lol) I just think this is more accurate

That’s fair enough. I still think Kenobie is second but it is a very close second with Dooku and Grievous trailing right behind. Dooku and Grievous are a coin toss away from being flipped around I just think that Grievous has some really incredible survivability which is what I would argue is the most important in a duel. Yoda does have some really crappy swing speed but once you get pretty good at him he can be really hard to beat thanks to the three block breakers that constantly wear down the opponent.

​@@katana2140 okay lets put it this way light side duelists Obi (regen card) > Luke (intensify epicenter) > Rey > Anakin (massive strikes) > Yoda Rey is heavily dashstrike reliant. Not many people know how to parry/avoid Dash Strike really well. Her stamina is bad, becomes worse with Balance which everyone uses, but it's managable and she has fast stamina regen. She's more of a normal type, not like Obi with the crazy regen or Luke with tiny regen but fast. Mind Trick messes up 70% of people. the other 30% can just deal with it.

You got the first 4 right but putting ani, kylo and rey BELOW Yoda is just criminal. Yoda has insanely slow swing speed, easy to parry dashes (without damage reduction) and his horrible block allows to hit hook swings that are not even possible on other heroes. By far the worst in the game unless you put serious hours into him. My list goes as followed: 10. Yoda 9. Ani 8. Darth maul 7. Luke. 6. Kylo 5. Rey 4. Dooku 3. Grievous 2. KENOBI 1. Vader Id challenge you to a 1v1 any day if you think kylo is worse than Yoda, even though kylo is kind of countered by Yoda, most people will still be able to win against the ketamine goblin. I respect you putting out your opinion tho.

If you can find someone who is good at Yoda then you will see just how scary he can be. If yours gets the advantage at the start then he is a monster to defend against but if he doesn’t have the advantage and is instead on the back foot then yeah he is pretty hard to use

@@katana2140 I totally understand that, but this is true for every hero. If you put serious work in any hero you can be really good, doesn’t matter who it is. I’ve been playing lots of Darth maul lately and although he’s one of the last on my list he’s still pretty good when you start practicing more. Choke animation cancel is not even that hard to get down and gives you insane damage (you literally get 2 hits and a saber throw that hits twice). That’s still doesn’t mean he’ll ever go up in my list, he’s just fun and can be good when worked upon, just like every other hero or villain.

@@KybarTV I would argue it’s a bit different with getting good as Yoda. Yoda is a hard character to be good with so typically he will be bad. The important part is that nobody can put pressure on the opponent like Yoda can and it’s not really close. Having up to three block breakers is insane and that is why Yoda can be good. Plus bonus health is pretty nice.

@@katana2140 that’s only useful once you get the other guy low and if you are at a health advantage, since it’s by far the easiest and slowest dash that can be parried and choked, freezed, pulled or any other ability. The extra health (+the card) is decent, and his push is the worst in the game not counting supremacy (Luke’s is better, obi wans is too when using one of his push cards which almost everybody does). Slow swing speed + shitty block does not equal a good hero. In the right hands maybe. I’ve been playing lots of yoda too since lately, he’s also fun too play, but never will he move up the list. Also maul exists, he’s a bit better than Yoda and he can outmatch yoda’s aggressiveness (you might think not since his spin attacks can’t go through block but again, they’re easily partied and maul also has the saber throw which is really good especially with the card, and maul has one of the best combos in the game too).

@@panos-gen3107 to be fair Anakin isn’t tanky at all either. Maul does have a lot of opportunity to be parried but he also can back off far more easily than Anakin which helps him out. Yoda’s bonus health ability can make him a bit more survivable as well but where he really shines is his chip damage from his dashes.

Anakin and Kylo both have terrible abilities for duelling. Passionate strike is okay but hard to aim, both pulls take too long to execute and are better from range, so is freeze. Heroic might and retribution are too glitchy to be solid. Frenzy can be good but is easy to counter for anyone with a ragdoll, especially Rey, Luke and Yoda. These two are interchangeable at 9 and 10. Grievous can be good but he’s generally quite easy to counter if you know how. Parrying thrust surge is simple, claw rush can be parried quite consistently and unrelenting advance is garbage. Combined with his terrible stamina, the only thing Grievous has going for him is how hard it is to kill him with the right cards. Rey has good stamina and manoeuvrability. Mind trick is a pain but that’s it really. Her damage is too low and a lot of players become predictable in waiting for dash strike. Yoda has a high skill requirement. I’m still bad with him so I don’t have a lot of credit here, but if you learn how to play him properly then like you said, he becomes a great counter to Vader. He’s hard to hit, fast and can counter you if you over extend yourself. Maul is very aggressive and good at chipping the opponents health, but the choke hold is risky to use in duels and he has bad health and damage. Meaning you need to be strategic when playing him. Luke is also aggressive and fast like Maul. He has high damage and 2 ragdolls, along with fast regens. However that 50 health that he can’t regenerate is massive and makes him quite terrible against Dooku and negates his speed advantage against Vader. Obi Wan is very solid, he defends and parries well, and unofficially has unlimited health if you use him correctly. However you need to be patient and have a good grasp on duelling mechanics to play him. His slower speeds and slightly lower damage mean you have to stay on the defensive, and it harder to get the finishing hit in a closer duel. Dooku is designed for 1v1 duels. High damage, stamina and speed. His poor range is accounted for in 3 dodges, so his only really problem is the animation time on expose weakness leaving him vulnerable, but then if they attack you during that it becomes easier for you to damage them whilst the ability is active, because they are now close and can’t retreat properly. Darth Vader doesn’t need an explanation. His only weakness is stamina but you have the health and abilities ready to negate any chance they have of taking advantage of this.

@@katana2140 In the last month of playing, I think I’ve lost only one 1v1 to a Grievous and it was because I was Obi Wan and had to go on the offensive because my teammate died, and the Grievous was playing super defensively. If I could have played defensively or instead been aggressive with Luke I’m pretty confident I would’ve won the duel.

Plus claw rush is great for baking off and can be very difficult to block especially when compared to other knock downs. He certainly has some big weaknesses though so I respect the top three being above him

@@Dark-God986 I think at the highest skill level Maul is actually one of the best. Mail has some absolutely crazy part combos and damage combos that shred people’s health. Add on the ease of backing off from a fight and a Maul player can be hard to get a ton of damage into.

I've played some very good people and I've never met a maul at from a player better than me where it was scarier than their other players while I agree maul can be great at running everyone else can do what he can do better his fast damage? Ani, Rey, Dooku,Greivous,Vader, Luke can all pump out more DPS he has the lowest health besides Yoda who has a health ability and all of his abilitys are punishable while I agree hes highskill and the best player can make anyone work but I dont really see justification for putting him above anything other than kylo

@@Dark-God986 trust me I have fought some crazy skilled Maul players that can dish out way more dps that everyone except Dooku, Vader, and Maybe Grievous but that does take a lot of skill which is why I put him fairly high while still not breaking the top half because of the skill gap. Even a less skilled Maul I think is still a better pick than most if not all of the people below him too. Ani can be good but his stamina is not that great and he doesn’t have the same potential for backing off as maul does.

@@katana2140 The problem with Maul is he has the least health and does the least damage. He has no star cards for more health or damage reduction either, except the spin card which only works when he spins. You can't make any mistakes with him. Then there's his low damage abilities, making you have to work harder for permanent damage. His choke throw is garbage. You rarely get follow up hits and if you mistime it you stand there and get fucked. I'd take Kylo over him because pull and freeze allow for easy follow up hits, and his frenzy deals a lot of damage if you get all three hits.

Maul has the maneuverability to back off and regen health when he needs to and he can press the attack easily and make getting away very difficult. While he is not great at dishing out a ton of damage in one or two seconds, he is able to pack in a lot of damage over time which makes the enemy have a hard time with regenerating health thus losing their health over time.

Yeah I’d have to agree. It is seriously so bad. If the enemy has no abilities to use on you while it is active then it is still just a better idea to attack normally for damage or drop you block for stamina because the it’s easier to not get hook swinged and lose health

I disagree with Vader being number one. Obi-Wan is always my go to when disabling Vader and taking on multiple enemies at once, and shutting down his abilities early on is a great way to shuffle his health down before the player even decides to use his abilities (which all players immediately go for before they ever think about swinging their saber), so it’s great to get some damage in early on Vader. In fact, if it wasn’t for blaster heroes, Obi-Wan would pummel the entire Dark Side. He would just have to be careful with Kylo and Grievous. He was a great counter when these 2 toxic players decided to dupe Vader and they weren’t able to defeat my Obi-Wan with him, having to rely on a stupid Iden. I highly disagree with Yoda being a counter to Vader. If you just keep dodging backwards, Yoda is basically useless without his third ability, and a well timed guess on his healing ability is death for him when he’s still stuck in the choke anyway. Grievous’s unrelenting advance is actually pretty good for stopping Han from using soldier charge, and also a great way to catch groups attacking you off guard, before quickly running away with his third ability. The rest I agree with. I’ve started maiming Dooku recently because his third ability is great to use on my opponents during HVV because my teammates can also take advantage of it.

These are all fair points but keep in mind I’m ranking them based off of how good they are against other lightsaber heroes in duels and not in 2v1s and against blaster heroes. I definitely am certain about my placement of Vader because he has so many absurd things he can do on top of how tanky he is. Also just in case you don’t know this ranking was made without tournament rules in mind so the gloves are off for all characters here.

I don’t agree with this list but I like your perspective on each hero for sure. In my opinion all of light side is completely dog shit tbh, it’s gotten to the point I don’t even play light side AT ALL anymore I’d rather just back out the XP isn’t worth it straight up, and it took me a long time to really believe that after years of playing strictly HvV..Dark side is just better in every possible way. A light side team is “ok” if you actually have teammates that know what they are doing which is rare for some reason, but a fully experienced dark side team will absolutely obliterate any light side team line up no questions asked. Sorry but if you think differently you are just wrong hahah but play whatever you want you bought the game

A well constructed blaster team for the light side is pretty hard to beat though. Really a well constructed team for either side with three blasters and one saber is pretty hard to beat but the light side has just as good blaster heros for these modes. I do agree that the dark side saver heros are much stronger which is why they were mostly higher than a lot of the light side heros on this list.

@@katana2140 yeah I agree, as a blaster main myself Han Solo and Boba Fett are my mains but even Han Solo gets absolutely jumped if he doesn’t have a good team with him and his shoulder charge can literally run straight through people like the game doesn’t register it or something it’s really frustrating. I feel like sabers half the time just R2 spam because they don’t know how to parry. It really takes no skill to play as a Vader or any Saber because you have auto lock on as well as a dash that is pretty broken with camera manipulation

Vader is really only good because of his sheer rankings. He’s twice as tanky as maul. Choke isn’t great, 2 hits off it is hard and ping based.

@@pyxelgamer Even without frame trapping it’s a guaranteed 400-500 damage, which has to be worked around the entire match and if you get caught even once it’s the most punishing ability in the game. And saying he’s just good because he’s tanky is a crime, dude has a sabre throw which is extremely safe and mystically does 40 more base damage than Maul’s, and he has the most generous s of all heroes, blocks on every abilities, he’s the character with the highest win rate for trades, constant padding of his base health with rage, along with the massive buff to stamina, damage and damage reduction. Vader doesn’t have a single weakness besides slightly weak stamina regen, and THEN he has twice the effective health of every hero in the game.

@@phalanx8437 saber throw is twice as slow as mauls lol, makes it so much easier to dodge "constant padding of his base health with rage" = tankiness "massive buff to damage reduction" = tankiness damage buff isn't really big, vader saber DPS is ehh. He swings so slowly lol. tldr vader is good because of rage and cards. Choke is 130 dmg, 2 hits after that is ping based and thats only 400 even if you get it.

Anakin can be argued to be higher but he isn’t very survivable which is why he is lower plus he has some bugs which aren’t too big of a deal though. Kylo just doesn’t really have much good. Frenzy is super easy to parry and while the freeze and pull are nice to use they take a long time to come back. Plus Kylo is also not very survivable which is very important for dueling.

Yeah that’s a fair point. Some heros are very debatable on where they should go but I think that there are certain regions that the heros should fall in at the very least. For example Vader and Obi-Wan are both at least top 4.
