That kashtira match was intense, really shows how insane of an interaction selectively banishing from the extra deck face down is especially on a format when people aren't deckbuilding around it, unfortunate for the snake eye player to lose due to not playing zeus but it is what it is.

People claiming that banning branded fusion is the way to "balance" the deck is so wild man. Make no mistake it deserves to get hit, but not to be killed. As a branded player myself I think making Lubelion at 1, banning grass looks greener, and maybe making Quem at 1 is a good way to nerf the deck while not killing it (45 card decks exist and they won't die to any of this, but will just get weaker, meanwhile 60 card decks will die... and that's the point)

Ban Mirrorjade and Sanctifire and the other Branded cards can go back to 3. These two pesty cards make Branded unbeatable, like Mirrorjade alone causes 5 interactions in your turn with just the banish effect.

Kashtira unironically feels the best it has after the nerf. I’ve used it past 2 seasons to get to master 1 and it was such a smooth experience. Literally no one is running anti-Kashtira bs anymore (like books) and my deck runs macro cosmos too, so for the poor bozos who happen to out ariseheart, they then have to figure out how to out the macro cosmos. Literal free games. Maxx-c, shifter and droll just steal games. It’s so wild how much you high roll people in this current meta.

yeah still think that the deck is really powerful, the only thing that doesn't make it a branded contender is the consistency apparently, even if i have just seen one or two kash players brick

It's fine because Shifter is busted and the board wipes that beat it are just trash against everything else, similar to how Droll does nothing to Branded and the cards that DO work on it are easier for the other top decks to play around. I don't like how bricky Shifter can be though, so I just run some side engines that can do their own thing in a pinch. I'll probably replace the Adventure package with a Sinful Spoils one, and usually run a setup to search Eagle Booster to make Ariseheart Pass more effective to sit on. Speaking of which, someone this tourney was forced by Extrav to sit on Fenrir + Unicorn because they banished ALL their Kashtira Extra Deck monsters, but sometimes(actually often), that can be enough, so if you can't cover Ariseheart with Eagle Booster or Forbidden Lance just doing that might be even better because more chungus blockers to work with.

In the ocg, kashtira can play ariseheart, mindhacker and birth all at 3, even before the fenrir ban. It didnt top anything when snake eye was on the rise along with the second wave support for rescue ace
