i honestly think that floowandereeze is a great deck for new players to pick up, it teaches a lot of different things important to becoming a good player and while not broken, it can still get wins vs top decks: 1. it has a very simple combo line for new players (robina -> eglen -> empen, set pass) 2. it teaches the importance of chain blocking (with the little birds) 3. it showcases multiple forms of removal beyond battle and destruction (shuffling, banishing, sending, tributing) 4. it highlights the value of negations (apex avian) 5. it allows players to ignore maxx c, but teaches them the huge role that card plays by seeing it affect other players 6. it shows them that stacking the opponent's deck with a useless card is a viable tactic (raiza) 7. it lets them see the difference between activated effects and passive effects (the continuous trap that tributes opponent's cards) 8. it shows the power of floodgate effects (empen) 9. empen also teaches damage step ATK reduction tactics

This deck would be much more oppressive if the pots/draw cards were still legal Card of Demise banned, Pot of Duality, Pot of Desires, Extravagance, all hit in some way. A fine deck to play but hard to compete with the top decks playing without all those consistency cards imo

True Draco is definitely a rouge deck, but it’s cheap to make outside of Master Peace and it’s not too difficult to play. No true combo steps or anything.

I prefer the builds with Extra Deck support(Zoodiac, Metalfoes, Sky Striker all manage to pull interesting stuff with it funny enough). Though I guess having an Extra deck and running good cards instead of Floodgates would make it less budget.

Honestly without the Floodgates the deck is still awesome and has a lot of versatility, Master Piece is clearly the best but I cannot recommend enough Metaltron for dealing with Backrow heavy decks, and Calvary also is a great set up and protector that can be really helpful for your grind game.

The issue is that Draco can’t break boards. You can’t win going second unless the brick or you go first. Maybe lucky if you get a god hand.

I prefer to run the trap floodgates + Temple of the Kings and Spell Card "Soul Exchange" for board breaking. You can even cook some madness with Floowandereeze and the Unexplored Winds along with a winged beast package, Time Tearing Morganite, and Escalation of the Monarchs for backrow removal and tribute summoning in your opponent's turn.

No, as the card on the field is considered to be a continuous spell/trap, thus when it leaves the field as a tribute, it leaves the field as a continuous spell/trap

@@blgarrett77 master peace says the original type. it says that beacuse back in the day all trap monster's on monster zones are treated a trap and monster thus they can be destroyed with duster and raigeki when theyt are in monster zone. if it wouldnt say that you could tribute a spell and trap monster and master peace would be uneffected by everything. there are some new trap monsters that dont treat themselves as trap on monster zones. u cannot duster them. so the card on the field that you want to tribute consideres itself as monster and originally a trap when getting tributed.

Problem is people pick up these decks to learn the game but then they never actually learn at all. They continue playing these shitty floodgate decks and never actually learn a competent deck. If I am a new player, I might get frustrated instead because how lack the draw power are for this deck... All useful pots at 1, Card of Demise banned... "But I have the True Draco monsters for draw!" No, they'll get Ash-ed or negated, and destroyed (usually leaving your main monster zone empty again lol)

Isn't that what every deck is ? Set up 6 interruptions so you stop anything from happening then kill them turn 3. Stun is just with less steps.

Not every deck, but definitely most decks. I think the reason why players take issue with stun decks like this is because setting 3-5, summoning one monster and passing requires less skill than playing through interruptions to set-up 3-5 interruptions on the board. Stun does require less steps but is considered massively more degenerate given how easy it is to use and harder to stop in a BO1 format. ​@@zetokaiba5867
