Duffy's Arcade Collection #8 - TX Sector

With one of the best original music soundtracks in pinball, 1988's Gottlieb (Premnier) TX Sector is a fantastic machine with an interesting layout and 2 great spinners. A forgotten machine that has enjoyed a recent cult following, I was lucky to retrieve this example from a 5th-floor apartment in central Germany. Just don't let the translite image put you off of the game ;)

Beautiful table, hoping you still have it. I never experienced this machine in the wild growing up, but I do get to play a digital version of it on my virtual pinball machine. Very cool theme and outstanding music for sure!

Yep, I still have it. I did sell Robowar about a year ago (and don't miss it) but I'm not planning on selling TX. I've never seen the machine in the US, but I've ran into a few of them in Europe

Yes you do. TX is a keeper for sure. They seem very rare in the USA but I've seen them sit for sale here in Europe for weeks or months and nobody buys them.

It depends on the price. It also could be hard to sell later...not everyone likes the 1980s Gottliebs.

What is your favourite? Robo War or TX-Sector? And why? .......

I think TX Sector is the better game. The gameplay where you build up the energy level is better. Two spinners, multiple ramps, better sound (although RW is great as well). The drops on RW are dangerous for center drains, and the progress resets with each ball which is annoying.
