How does momma keep from smothering the eaglet, yet keep egg and baby warm.

I think it is by touch. The parents can feel the new eaglet under them and the egg and know just how much they can lay. Normally the egg bowl would be deeper but snow now too long flattens most of the nesting here. Now with the rain it will be a few days before dry nesting can be brought in
