that one is a bit harder. i cant find any decent duke levels ported over to doom. or good enough levels to play. i did find one thats a decent recreation of hollywood holocaust. but the map gets swarmed with enemies like 10x more then usual and its HARD. if i can somehow finish it with out needing co op. then ill make a vid as its insane lol

@@gunsharckDoomguy have vertical auto-targeting, and he can deal with flying enemies like cacodemons. But these flying rats are pretty fast, so it would be hard target though. Much worse that Doomguy has limited mobility - can’t jump, can’t duck, can’t kick, can’t swim. I guess even first level is impossible for him without adding some ramps.

@@Abazzaar oh. I did the game. I used two mods. NTMAi mod and DukeHH30 combined. It turned out to be a flip completly. Doom guy made in the style of build with better suited doom enemies. And a doke level done in doom style so its a weird alternate shouldnt be iniverse that was fun to experience 😁

@@RaswellsOfficial its a fiarly easy process. but you will need a program like gzdoom. take the mod after opening the file and placing into where you are keeping your doom mods. from there. all you need to do is drag and drop the mod on the gzdoom icon. from there, the only other option you should have is which doom game do you want to play it with. and it should start. to be clear you need a copt of doom or doom2 WAD file, gzdoom, and whatever mod for them. that should be all you need

I tried to implement some Duke3D elements in a Doom2 wad myself back in the time and exchanging sprites or sounds was easy, but I never figured out how to add/change whole concepts like the Freezer or kick. I guess the release of doom sourcecode made it possible. Awesome mod for sure.

Oh since different engines like gzdoom and zandronum and older like zdoom and the like. Duke like mods have existed. Theres a fun one called samsara. Its ment to play with a group. The bigger the better. As you get to choose between 20 differenct classic fps characters. Blake stone, doom guy, blood shadow warrior, duke, quake ranger, unreal. Descent star ship lol. The list goes on. The enemies show up in relation to your characters. So more friends, more mix of enemies. Then add that with lexicon or conpendium for hub and level choice. And your good to go for hours of fun I wish i knew how to make mods, i would love to make a build of my own

The closest thing to that is samsara. And using lexicon mod with it. Has about 20 different characters to play as, aswell as thier enemies. Ment to be played with others as the more differwnt characters you choose. The mixed the enemies. The other day i played with 2 buddies, i took blake stone, my one buddy took the descent ship. And the other took caleb, our enemies were a mix of the 3.

@@kerbal666 you can get it running in gzdoom. But ots best to play in zandronum with a few others. The more people play and take sifferwnt characters. The bigger the variety. Plus alot of manual tweaking, you can add more enemies, or up thier health. Or both. Making each enemy harder when theres like 8 people. Its insanly fun. Either use the compendium or like i said lexicon map pack. That way you have tones of maps to choose from in a central hub.

This multiverse is awesome, perfect mix of the greatest first person shooters, love the pisto of duke being so much satisfying than the doom one and also the tigers (?) are way more chanllenging that the imps, so slow (and I don't know, but they fit so well in the doom wad, even better that the imps (don't know if the name is right). So I think we got the best of the 2 world. Something to go deep into. Maybe there could be some cheello voxel colab too?

@@johnstarfire i really like having the mix. The tiger stripped aliens i find are a bot tougher then the zombie men. Same with pig cops. They take longer to shoot. But usually take 2 shells to take out. Having the mix makes it much harder. I was thinking about voxel doom. However before i go to crazy with mods. I need to learn ZDL and how it works. So far ive failed hard on that. So any mods needong more then 3 mods is a bit much and hard to run properly.

@@GeneralMacek best part is. The enemies change. So each time you run the level. What may have been a big doom enemy. Might be a duke mini boss. Sometimes in a chain gun enemy in a mech suit. Sometimes its a barron of hell.

@@lev1-uk3dy all you need to play this is GZDoom, a copy of doom 2 wad. And go to moddb and get the mod DN3Doom. Once you have all 3. Drag and drop both the Wad file, and the modfile onto GZDoom. From there the game will start. Go to options, and adjust how you like.

@@lev1-uk3dy no problem. If you want to experement. Download ZDL3. Its a mod loader for GZDoom and Zandronum. It allows you to load up multiple mods easily and in proper order to make sure they work as intended. Useful when you add a variety of mods. Such as voxel doom, relighting, and smooth doom all together.

actually, the jet pack is usable, i just didnt have a need to use it here. but its a free escape deathpits that you may fall into in later doom 2 maps. the some can fly, depends on thier location and map. but usually no.

with this mod in doom 2. its actually pretty good. i find it on par with brutal doom for reloading. takes a few seconds, but isnt a game killer. plus with how i play. reloading is needed.

@@fabioxperuggia not really. It adds a boon thats needed with modern controls of jumping and ducking and free mouselook and auto aim off. Not having reloading makes your character to OP. Hence why in my videos, i still go to each room even if i know i can skip areas. Does reloading slow down the pace. A tiny bit yes. But without ot. Your character is too strong compared to the forces.

The akimbo pistols are wrong. The ejection port would be on the same side for each gun, but they are seen on opposite sides of eachother when held by Duke...and if the case were that Duke had them custom made to have opposite side ejection ports for some reason, he would hold these guns in opposite hands so the casings get ejected away from him, not in front of him. Mod sucks now.

Alot of them coukd due with a return as long as its done properly. We dont need another halo tv show disaster lol 🤣 But i get what your saying. There are quite a few other characters that coukd make a terrific comeback. I personally would love to see older fps games get a rebirth, like Blake Stone, or Catacombs, a proper Duke Nukem, the red ne ks from red neck rampage. Samsara is a good mod. It allows you to play up to 20 different characters from old school games. And it mixes the monsters up as long as you play on Zandronum with others. You can also add either the lexicon or compendium to add even more levels.
