@TutorialTelevision eduke32 by itself renders in software and con be configured for modern reolutions in laptops and widescreen monitors. Polymer (with or without 3d models) does require a modern 3d card but is optional.

This will be part of the HRP. The Polymer engine (what you see here) will be selectable in the setup menu, in alternative to the Polymost engine (the current HRP engine).

@DJSockman Yep, check the HRP (high resolution Duke3D pack) site from Duke4.

Press the key you have binded to select "mighty foot" or "holster weapon." That should get rid of the weapon on the screen. The bottom bar can disappear by pressing the plus + sign on your keyboard.

This is seriously just as good as what would have been "Duke Nukem Forever". Duke Nukem is lucky to have a very talented, loyal, and dedicated fanbase that has the ability to keep our beloved Duke Nukem alive by simply enhancing what we loved in the first place. Duke Nukem Forever would be awesome, even if the game wasn't that great, but I'm definitely content with reliving Duke's original bad ass story over and over with alittle new flair thrown in the mix.

Disable crosair/HUD and press + hold on the left or right arrow key. Using jetpack helps too.

This is awesome :) Perhaps you can help me. The HRP I downloaded works but it lacks the "glow" effects(projectiles, the pig cop vehicle headlights, flickering fire). Is there a special form of the HRP I have to download or is it a graphics thing?

@miguepoll Do you have a good graphics card with the latest drivers? Does your PC meet the minimum requirements for Polymer? DId you check the Polymer box when you ran EDuke32?

Why is so much of it covered in total darkness, though? This is like Doom 3 levels of pitch blackness I'm seeing, is that to hide the shortcomings of the assets used? Because I think they look just fine in lit environments.

@DJSockman yes you do DJ, you need to download the duken nukem 3d high res pack, the high res pack makes everything 3d, you can fiend it online, i have at one point, but i dont have duke nukem cd anymore :( and i cant seem to fiend the hole version of duke nukem 3d on pc. i have it for 360, but thats about it

@WackyModder84 no it is still a mod... just download the hrppolymer pack, it comes with everythign you need to play.. open eduke and the dropbox click autoload and check polymer, click launch or start and it will show a thousand errors and warnings before ti loads and then voila...

Man some of the stuff is not there in the latest builds or not enabled by default...like character shadows and the dynamic lighting projected by the plane that the pigcop is flying as seen @ 1:27-1:37. If anyone knows how to enable it via a cvar or something, please do lemme know, Thanx!

Does the eduke32 work with the non-polyrendered version of duke nukem 3D? Has anyone actually tried it doing that, and did it help the lagging and quality?

@Jdog8998 I accept that argument. I don't normally like when good things are changed. But obviously they would retain the original Duke3d in its entirety (graphics, gameplay, sounds). This version would be, well, IS, optional. I really hope they somehow managed to create new epiclly awesome things for this Duke 4 Ever game, but deep down, I just want MORE of what is already damn near perfect. It's always hard to reproduce perfection, but I'd love it if they could for this game.

It kinda runs on a GT 610 which is comparable with GeForce 8600. It is at 75 fps until the plasmaballs start flighing where it sometimes just drops to 6.

My problem is when the gibs soar. And I have a 2GB Geforce GTX 670 with 16GB of RAM to back it up. Polymer's a HORRIBLE memory hog.

Saints Row 2 didn't have polygon explosions which I think is what reaper is referring to. I also didn't see it in AOE3, but I don't have the game and only looked at gameplay trailers.

try that with Duke Plus on the freezethrower so it fires a straight beam and 3 comet like ice balls with alt fire.

I love Duke 3D, i've been playing it since i was 3 or 4, i think i much prefer the original graphics though, they just seem so vibrant, and welcoming, and have an upbeat kind of mood, i don't know, that how i played it as i was young, so i guess its some sort of nostalgia. I mainly love duke so much, because of Caribbean, best game expansion ever!! I would actually like to see this on Caribb, i probably won't like it, but would be cool.

Like 2 1GB 6870s running in Crossfire, a Phenom X6 and 16GB of RAM? I've made a few upgrades since that comment, as you can tell. For reference, it doesn't run Metro: Last Light very well above medium settings. I don't know why, it's like something is holding the performance back!
