An additional reason why Paul does not specify how people should work out their salvation is this; his audience were expected to have received the Holy Spirit, which would teach them all things. So, by refraining from teaching them exactly what they were to do to work out their salvation, he submits himself and his ministry to the same Holy Spirit working in him.
@thirdplace397311 ай бұрын
Another reason why Paul doesn’t explain it is because the verb in Greek for “work out” is in the middle voice not active. The Christian is to yield themselves to the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit conforming them to the image of Christ. We yield, it’s the Spirit’s work.

In other words we agree keep up the good work. If God did not want us to think then we would be like an amoeba. So if we have a brain then courageously use it. Then one might think that its just too good to be true that Paul dropped his Roman privileges which is a villa, money, power etc to be something else. Also he conveniently saw Christ and now he can do His bidding. Are u that naive? Again use the brain than God gave. And God is supposed to be the Truth.

@Horrace Smith, I'm not a Christian (yet) but didn't Paul meet with Peter to make sure that he had his teachings straight like Galatians 1:18-20 points out?
@truerealrationalist4 жыл бұрын
@Stefan Urban Even if Paul _did_ personally establish the churches to whom he had written his letters, this is _still_ problematic because of the dating of the Gospels. The Book of Mark is held to have been written circa 65-75 CE. Paul's letters are held to have been decades prior to this. The problem is that the Gospels themselves introduce a fair amount of Christian theology. This means that if the Epistles were written first, additional Christian theology came after Paul, which means that the claim the Paul "invented" Christian theology is dubious. Alternatively, if oral traditions existed that predate both the Pauline letters _and_ the Gospels, it makes the claim even more dubious.
@truerealrationalist4 жыл бұрын
@Horrace Smith If the contemporary Jews plotted to kill Jesus, and he got in trouble with the Nazarenes for his teachings, (as well as the Pharisees) wouldn't this be an effective rebuttal to the claim that Paul invented the theology? It certainly seems within the realm of possibility that his theology mirrored that of Jesus himself (and that this teaching is what caused contemporary Jews' animosity).
@truerealrationalist4 жыл бұрын
@Horrace Smith I see. I was just tracking the logical progression based on your comment with Paul in mind. Personally, I think the most likely scenario is that someone named Jesus probably did exist, and he probably inspired members of his following to tell "fish tales" about him posthumously.

That Jesus did not want us to follow the disciples ????? I just want to get it straight so we can even discuss it.
@tonymansourati69372 жыл бұрын
could you pinpoint , where exactly Paul stated : that he hated the Disciples ? .
@winstonshipman87342 жыл бұрын
‘Hate’ is an awfully strong word, but these two did have a sharp encounter. We see it unfold in Galatians 2:11-19, where Paul rebukes his fellow apostle for caving in to the prejudice of a group who said that people from all ethnic backgrounds had to satisfy the Jewish ritual law before they could become proper Christians. This meant, for instance, that men had to be circumcised and that no one could eat pork. This is VERY important . Some traveled with Jesus Paul did not. If you traveled with the Prophet Muhammad , is it possible you were not aware how he felt about eating pork ? You would see it every day as you encountered strangers and potential converts he spoke to . You would know exactly how he felt. Paul does not care.
@stegokitty2 жыл бұрын
@@winstonshipman8734 Firstly, you said that "Paul hated the other disciples", which is patently false, and a wicked fabrication. Secondly when called on your source for suggesting this ridiculous and wicked claim, you then backpeddled and said "Hate' is an awfully strong word" as if the other fellow (Tony) is the one who suggested it. You admitted no wrongdoing. No, instead you bring up a "sharp encounter" that Paul had with Peter and with Peter ALONE. It had nothing whatsoever to do with the "other disciples", and it most certainly didn't display any kind of "hatred" that Paul had for Peter. In fact it was LOVE for Peter, and for other fellow Christians, and especially love for the Gospel of Christ, that Paul rebuked Peter. And he was right to do so. We see in Galatians 2 "But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. For before certain men came from James, he was eating with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing the circumcision party. And the rest of the Jews acted hypocritically along with him, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy. But when I saw that their conduct was not in step with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all, “If you, though a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you force the Gentiles to live like Jews?”" There's nothing of hatred there, so why would you go and make it as if it was? And we can see that Peter certainly didn't take it as hatred, but loved Paul and respected his Apostolic authority as one who was called directly by the risen Christ, for Peter writes of Paul's writings: "And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures." (2 Peter 3:15-16) Notice how Peter refers to Paul's letters as "Scripture" in comparing what Paul writes and how wicked people twist what Paul has written "just as they do the other Scriptures". Isn't this what you're doing? Repent quickly. And Paul did so IN LIGHT OF THE WORD, and in light of the vision that Christ gave to Peter. Paul would've reminded Peter of the vision of the sheet containing every kind of unclean animal, whereupon the Lord said "Rise, kill, and eat", and in Christ's teaching: "And he said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled?”f (Thus he declared all foods clean)." (Mark 7:18-19) And Paul was able to do these things as well from a theological studies point of view having been a rabbi himself, whereas Peter was a fisherman. Peter's apostolic authority was equal with that of Paul, but his knowledge of the Scriptures and of how one verse answers another was not as extensive, though certainly not lacking. And both of them were inspired by the Holy Spirit. Therefore notice that we have no written teaching by Peter telling us not to eat pork, and to observe Jewish tradition? Right. And we were never supposed to. Everything that we're supposed to have is what we have, by infallible and inerrant inspiration of the Spirit of God, along with the preservation of the Word. You end your outrageous rant with "Paul does not care". Well, I've certainly proven otherwise. Repent now, while there's time.

I think Paul's desire for us to think "Christianly" was very dangerous, for we vary in what we think is Christian Theology is for us, individually. For example, one Christian can use a scripture to promote celibacy as a virtue whereas another Christian can find another scripture in the bible that does not favor celibacy. Thus, this does not promote unity at all. We must find authentic laws about celibacy that are inspired by God we can both agree on. After all, God determines what path is right, not our own theology.

@@falsesectslikeshiaarejudeo6543 I WOULD NEVER THINK OF CALLING JESUS A LIAR. Quran 4:157-158 says that. I would never say Jesus did not die because Jesus said He was yet Muhammad did not believe Jesus. The following 8 POINTS prove the SACRIFICE OF JESUS. #1 Jesus PREDICTED HIS DEATH. Jesus said: "You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified," Injeel Matthew 26:2. #2 ANGELS SAID JESUS DIED. WILL you say this angel is a liar too? "But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified," Injeel Matthew 28:5. #3 The disciple John saw and wrote about the crucifixtion of Jesus (Injeel John 19:17-26). #4 THE BOOK OF HEBREWS SAID JESUS DIED! Jesus tasted death for every Christian, (Hebrew 2:9). Jesus was dead and He is now resurrected ALIVE (Rev 2:8; Hebrews 5:7). The Blood of Jesus was shed (Hebrews 9:12). #5 JESUS SAID THIS: “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day," Injeel Luke 24:46. #6 The OT predicts the death of Christ: Zechariah 12:10; Isaiah 53; Psalm 22; John 2:19-22). #7 The WORDS OF JESUS ARE PROTECTED and ETERNAL. NOBODY CAN DISPROVE WHAT JESUS SAID AND PREDICTED ABOUT HIS DEATH: "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away," injeel Matthew 24:35. #8 The CUP that Jesus feared was a CUP of SUFFERING and not death (Matthew 26:42; see Matthew 26:2 and Matthew 26:54). THERE IS NO CUP of DEATH any where in history. The prayer of Jesus to lessen his suffering proves Jesus was human, and a human sacrifice (Matthew 26:28). Yet Jesus was still God as He said when we see Him we see God in the flesh (Injeel John 14:7-9). I invite any Muslim to try to refute any of the 8 POINTS ABOVE. If they cannot I invite Muslims and doubters to come to Jesus for their salvation. This is the WILL of God (Injeel John 6:40) and this is the very command of Jesus (Injeel Matthew 11:28-29). I like the way Chuck Missler put it so I copied what is I think a quote from him about the Bible: “It is sixty-six books written by forty authors, written between 1446 B.C. & 90 A.D. But, now we discover that it is an integrated message system from outside our time and space domain.” ― Chuck Missler In other words, it's written by God, guided by His Holy Spirit through his servants, like Paul - however we Christians would want to say it. Even though Paul was talking about the Old Testament, I think this applies to the words written in the New Testament guided by the inspiration of God: 2nd Timothy 3: "16 All Scripture given by inspiration of God, and profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." If it wasn't it would have fallen apart a very long time ago. And, people would not have faith through hearing and hearing through the Word of God. I think Paul's writings included in the New Testament are just part of the whole message of the Bible. So that we don't say, I am of Cephas, I am of Paul, or I am of ...

2 Peter is a probably forgery 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾 As with all of the ‘catholic’ epistles, no one knows. Scholars of the historical-critical study of the Bible disagree on who wrote 1 Peter.¹ Well, being academics, they disagree on pretty much everything-but when it comes to the authorship of the New Testament, some of the most widely agreed-upon facts are that Whoever the author of 1 Peter was-the disciple or some unknown Christian writing in his name-he was not the author of 2 Peter. The styles and the command of the Greek language are completely different. Regardless of who wrote 1 Peter, the author of 2 Peter was not the apostle. This was known already in ancient times. The Church Father Eusebius accepted 1 Peter as being authentic, but even he didn’t buy 2 Peter. In the early 4th century CE, Didymus the Blind, student of Origen, wrote of 2 Peter that “We must therefore not be ignorant of the fact that the epistle at hand is forged…” 2 Peter was written long after the time when Jesus’s original disciples died. 2 Peter copies 75% of the epistle of Jude (19/25 verses), and the author refers to the Pauline epistles as “Scripture”. While the disciple Peter was alive, if he knew of any Pauline epistles at all, they’d have been considered mere letters-it was only as later Christians came to revere the early apostles that Paul’s letters (and the forgeries in his name) to be “Scripture”. It’s also noteworthy that while early Christian writings, like the undisputed Pauline epistles, anticipate an imminent παρουσια parousia (“second coming”) (see e.g. 1 Thess 4:17), 2 Peter explicitly repudiates this expectation: 2 Peter chapter 3 is largely an attempt to explain away the disappointment of an imminent parousia.

Trusting in Jesus is not just believing in his existence. It’s not just believing in what he did on the cross. Jesus (Yashua) said “If you love Me, keep My commandments … He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me … If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” John 14:15-24. Keeping the commandments is not based on our own understanding of what we think is good. We most obey the commandments of the father as in the Ten Commandments. Humble yourself and acknowledge your sinful ways. Repent of your sins and turn away from your sins, Repent daily and seek Yah (God) with all your heart and keep his commandments. I see good people who call themselves Christians be out of covenant with Yah (God )and not even know they’re not under his covenant. Why are people deceived? It’s due to the lies pastors all over are teaching in the churches. I used to be a Christian but after the pandemic and the lock downs something happened and I decided to whole heartedly seek Yah (God). I repented of my sins and with his help I turned away from my sinful ways and started studying the Bible on my own with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Little by little I started noticing all the lies that I was taught. Let me point out some of the many lies pastors teach. The concept of the Trinity is false. There is only one God Isaiah 44:6 Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: “I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god. Jesus is the son of God who came to carry all the sins of the world and to be our teacher on how to glorify the father. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of wisdom who teaches and guides us to keep Yah’s commandments (instructions). The other false doctrine I believed like many other people is that all I had to do was believe in the finished work of Jesus (Yahushua) on the cross and say a prayer and I would make it into heaven. This is a lie the evil Satanist have taught all pastors in order to get God’s people to sin and go to hell. We must follow the teachings Yashus (Jesus ) came to teach. What did Yashua (Jesus ) teach? He taught that we must follow the law (commandments) of the father. In John 14:15 Jesus said If ye love me, keep my commandments. Why is it that every pastor and Christian argue and say the commandments were away with? Because everyone goes based on the gospel of Paul which has verses that say we must keep the commandments but then there are also verses that say we are saved by faith alone and not by works. His writings are confusing to understand and the book of Isaiah does warn us to be careful of the pen of the lying scribes. Meaning that we can’t trust the men who put the Bible together and did the translations. Jesus’ teachings are clear about us having to keep the commandments in order to have everlasting life. Remember how Eve was tricked in the garden by the serpent? Well, this spirit of deceit is going on nowadays too. We have to be carful not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. If you read in the book of Revelation the warning to the 7 churches you will see how Yashua (Jesus ) started by telling every church “I know your works.” Meaning we are expected to do good works as in keeping the commandments. One of the most important commandments that most Christians don’t keep is resting on the 7th day which is Saturday. Exodus 20:8-11 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. The true Sabbath day was changed to Sunday by the Vatican but no man is allowed to change God’s holy rest day. Once again everything is ruled by the Satanist of this world which are purposely corrupting the truth of God so that people are confused. This is an example as to why Jesus said the following Mathew 7:14 How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it. I’ve been telling those I know who got the vaccine to repent for having taken that abomination. Many got it due to lack of knowledge and for not being in covenant with God. Those vaccines unfortunately are making many people sick, causing heart attacks, miscarriages etc. I’m not telling you this to instill fear in you. I’m informing you in order to equipt you with the truth so that you can fight the Spiritual battle with the right weapons. What’s your weapon to fight the health issues caused by the evil vaccine? Your obedience to God in keeping his beautiful commandments. Psalm 119:142 Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, And Your law is truth. What is the law? The commandments So the verse above is saying that the commandments is the truth. By repenting of your sins and keeping the commandments you are entering in covenant with God. People might tell you The law is for the people of Israel. This is another lie!!! Israel refers Spiritually to the people of God. And even if you continue to say that’s not true I’m not an Israelite well there’s a verse in the Old Testament a verse that mentions that the gentiles can be grafted into God’s family. So, either way anyone who wants to make it into the kingdom must keep the commandments. Also, we’ve all been brain washed since little kids to celebrate Xmas and Easter. I didn’t know this until recently but these are pagan Holidays where we unknowingly are acknowledging false Gods. If you Google the history of Xmas you’ll see what I mean. I have a video on my channel about the proof of why Xmas is an evil celebration. God warns us in the Bible to be careful to not fall into the trap of worshipping him like the pagans do. The Bible also says in Proverbs don’t go based on your own understanding. This means for example just because we have a good excuse as to why Xmas is nice doesn’t mean God likes it. He’s a jealous God and doesn’t accept adultery from our part with other gods. If you don’t believe me pray on it with all your heart and ask Yah (God) to give you a confirmation as to whether this is true or not. We must humble ourselves and admit when we might be wrong. When we repent and humble ourselves God blesses us with his truth. Ever since I started keeping God’s beautiful instructions(commandments) I have no fear because I know he is my shield. No vaccine, mask or any of that stuff for me because he is my protector and my obedience to him is my shield. Psalm 91 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. * His truth here refers to his commandments Psalm 119:142 Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, And Your law is truth.

Paul did not curse the law. He taught, and rightfully so, that the importance wasn't in works of the law but in faith expressing itself through love. A righteousness that is first to last by faith in Christ Jesus. Paul saw all the law as law and considered the law in judgments he made such as, ""Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain," and "The worker deserves his wages." We use the NT as a guide as to which acts can lead to the 2nd death. Paul upheld these commands. We are not free to sin. You know the commandments: 'You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, you shall not defraud, honor your father and mother.'" As well as abstaining from sexual immorality. Jesus's command "Love one another" Love If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. Salvation through repentance and the forgiveness of sins. The Sadducee's and Pharisees rejected Gods purpose for them which was eternal life In Jesus as apposed to death. The lying prophets was those that told the people that God would give them victory over the Romans. Jesus told them the truth of their outcome. Their enemies would destroy them. You have a testimony that better explains the absence of a high priest on earth then what Judaism teaches. The message of the gospel. He’s well off in understanding Christianity as laid out by Paul. 1. The transforming of the mind is referring to the gentile/ secular thinking. The scripture in mentioned states “not to be conformed to this world, but instead be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Paul is saying that when the new believer is confronted by biblical truths that conflict with their previous lifestyle/mind set/worldview, they are to reject those secular views and change them for God’s. 2. He seems to really miss the concept of new creature. As in my first point, same here. The new believer should live according to their new faith in Christ. In other words, what’s new isn’t what Paul is preaching. What’s new is the believers faith in those teachings. This is why you shouldn’t rely on academics when it comes to the Bible. Their approach is always out of context and only serves to pretend to present the real truth as they misinterpret.

I have very high regard for Prof. N.T Wright. However, having listened to the entire lecture in this video with important questions he proposed, he utterly failed to respond to his own questions. The questions he asked are theological ones and his responses are church-related (ecclesiastical). Let me try to extrapolate how the proposed theological question would be answered: Why did Paul invent "Christian theology"? In other words, the question is concerned with why Paul saw Jesus as a continuity of God of Israel? The second question is, How did Paul explain Jesus in relationship with the God of Israel? If N.T. Wright was to answer these questions intellectually objectively, he would discover that Paul was not a systematic thinker and failed to connect God of Israel with Jesus. Truthful to the New Testament text, to respond to these questions would ERASE COMPLETELY Christian theology as Paul's invention lacks continuity from God of Israel with Jesus.

Paul departed from the beliefs of Jewish followers of Jesus according to the book of Acts. The Gospels were written decades after Paul's letters and were intended to match the new religion dogmas but still have irreconciliable errors not explained as witnesses different points of view. Moreover, Paul denied basic Jewish beliefs that stem straightforwards from the Torah such as the unity of the Almighty. Most critical _'foundations'_ are based upon twisted translations, misquotations and egregious inventions such as the killing of the infants in Bethlehem. All the Christan religion revolves around the acceptance of their beliefs making up a circular argument. For an actual analysis of Paul's inventions you have plenty of resources in the channel of Jews for Judaism.

One thing I get from this lecture is that to have the mind of Christ is not quite as simple as looking up a relevant text and applying it to any given situation. To live the law of love thy neighbor (Which is what life ask for) requires that we apply the principle of love rather than chapter and verse prescriptions for "behavior"". We "work out our salvation with fear and trembling" as Paul puts it. To read the gospels one cannot but help to feel how stultifying and arid the spiritual, or inner life of the times were. No wonder the scripture says, "and the common people heard him gladly".

I got the same thing from it. I think there is and should be a balance. On one hand, as the lecturer explain, it cannot be seen as a list of rules that answers every situation that arises. At the same time, it is quite clear how tremendously demanding Jesus is of us In terms of the straight and narrow path, and what it means to truly follow him by taking up our cross and denying ourselves, and that he strongly emphasized numerous times the big importance of caring for the very poor. If we ignore and don’t try hard to fulfill those essential demands and principles of Jesus, we in essence don’t actually believe him or believe in him, and we risk not having eternal wonderful salvation. Thus, people need to be careful to not use lectures like this - and the theme that Paul and the Bible are not telling us what to do in all situations - to take a path in which they fail to put their all hearts and minds towards those things I just described above. Rather, they should remember what the lecturer says: that in order to reach holiness - which is a word that summarizes what I wrote above - we need to engage in the things he talked about such as the renewing of our minds, becoming more like Christ the prototype and learning to think like Christ plus connect with and be inspired by the Spirit. One thing to also keep in mind when reading Paul and engaging in Christian theology is the single demand of utmost importance that Peter and the other original members of Jesus‘s inner circle put on Paul, which was: don’t forget the poor. Paul and the original disciples had a sizable number of disagreements. When they met in person to go over those disagreements, The original disciples we’re willing to give in on all of them except for one: which is that Paul should make sure that caring for the poor is remembered in the plan. unfortunately, for various reasons most of us modern Christians do very very little to help the poor. I am not talking about the so-called American poor, nearly all of whom are in the richest 30% of people in the world and nearly all of whom would have been considered rich by the standards that Jesus used when he talked about the poor and the rich. I am talking about the poorest third of humanity, who are trying to survive on only several dollars per day for all of their needs including shelter, food, transportation, clothing and all else. we have forgotten the poor, and any theology that does not include some amount of focus on the poor is not a Christian theology. I suggest that people read the book named the Hole in our Bibles… for more information on this topic.

Religion does not have to be "right". Spirituality does! If rambling under a tree, beside a montain or under the sea as a religious ritual brings you the discipline and orderliness that leads you to loving others and righteousness, your real spiritual essence will inevitably be connected with the divine omnipotence. Humans are inertly spiritual beings encased in a material case called the body which goes to the grave and decays once the spiritual contents reunites with the universal omnipotence that had actually been its source. Anybody can invent, start a religion. It is only a false religion when it enforces superiority, inhibits liberty and freedom, invade the circle of the worthwhile comfort of others and has no regard for the most important attribute of universal love. It is not the authencity of the religion. It is the effect its ideology induces!
@MrLegitable13 жыл бұрын
A vague sense of spirituality is entirely subjective, and therefore useless in determining absolute truth. And you are here asserting your own dogma as absolute truth that is binding to others. Actually, it seems that you are heavily influenced by Christian theology in your value of love. But love in it’s true form requires a “binding and limiting of freedom.” How could a man love his wife if he does not choose to restrict his freedom to womanize? To choose one thing, you must necessarily forsake some other things.

What did Jesus teach in earliest known versions of the 4 gospels (Mark, Matthew, Luke, John) except Islam? 1) Tawhid & Rahma - Mark 12.29 Mathew 12 :7 2) Law - Mathew 5.17, Jon 14.23 vs. - no mercy/law in Paul Heb 9 & romans 10.4 3) He is only human like David - Luke 3.22 nrsv footnote , Jon 5 :30 4) No crucifi-ction - no witnesses until jon switch mother Mary's place, if you honest this shows deliberate change from narrative it has no evidence matching Islam. Quran 3 :54 & 55 to Thesalonians 2 :9! Mark 16 :8 is original ending, no 2nd showing of Jesus copied by other gospels 5) There is a Prophet after Jesus to come named Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him with verses like jon 1.21, Isaiah 42 etc. paul in acts 9.3 saw deviI of luke 10 :18 & removed Jesus's commands in romans 10 :4, matches false no command prophet in mathew 24:11... even paul looked for prophet in Arabia in gal 1 :17, who comes after Jesus in Jon 1 :21... Anything other then this is a contradiction of Jesus earliest message consistent with all prophets before or figurative. Game over. Great deep talk yet and I understand the exposition of "unity and holiness." But I question the use of the terms "Paul invented." Paul received REVELATIONS..he did not "invent" what he taught. He refers to them throughout as "mysteries." He didn't invent --create design something that has not existed. He taught what was revealed to him by Christ after ascension...WHO INVENTED IT. May be splitting hairs but this terminology is likely to contribute to those who resist Paul's teaching. While Tom's words are eloquent and enlightening that term is a distraction to what Tom is trying to get across.

A plus for efforts to make some sense out of nonsense. Paul of Tarsus was not a religious Jew, if a Jew at all. His ideas are hellenistic and foreign to a Jew. New testament authors, whoever they were showed very poor understanding of Hebrew Tanakh and misquoted, took verses out of the context, changed original texts and more. New testament wasn't written for a Jew and is totally foreign construct written in hated Greek. Jesus, if he existed at all, was one of apocalyptic teachers of his era with his core followers and occasional bystanders. He may have aspired to be long awaited king and certainly his uneducated followers who were not very familiar with Hebrew prophecies could possibly think so. What makes Christianity successful is a direct involvement of Roman emperor and him using this new religion as an umbrella for all pagan religions of his era. Whether you call this savior Horus, Dionysus, Mithra or Jesus, the song remains the same. Paul's private correspondence is a blueprint for a new government approved religion. Anonymous gospels combined with incoherent rhetoric of Paul and others who forged in his name, anonymous Acts and Hebrews turned religious Jew into villains and gave a Rome free pass. "Caesar's messiah" was born not out of a virgin but from Roman construct of one religion. Existence of Jesus is no longer relevant in Roman Pauline world as not many churches even refer to the gospels. It's all Paul, the original Joseph Smith of his era with his strange apparitions on the way to Damascus. Three different accounts of his alleged vision are presented by the anonymous book of Acts. To say that these stories are incoherent is to be very polite to those who still consider this text as being inspired, never mind that author doesn't make such claims. None of 27 books of NT makes any suggestion that we should consider these texts as inspired scripture. It's possibly nice literary example written by well educated Greek writers.

Emperor Constantine invented Christianity. As a matter of fact many Mebasrim opposed Constantine. They never attended to any of his meetings. the problem with theology is that it admits made up bs as reality. as long as people keep thinking the bs is real, they'll keep arguing about it, pretending they magically know the "truth". Jesus didnt say anything. Neither did god, neither did the hundreds of family tree members of disciples that were later authored to have spoken to jesus and god etc. All those hundreds of people could not write or tell their own story. Romans 53 = Paul 8. Mark 55 = Mark 9. Colossians 56 = Paul 10. Philippians 57 = Paul 11. Philemon 58 = Paul 12. Ephesians 59 = Paul 13. Luke 60 = Luke 14. Acts 60 = Luke 15. First Timothy 61 = Paul 16. Titus 62 = Paul 17. Second Timothy 62 = Paul 18. Matthew 63 = Matthew 19. Hebrews 64 = Unknown ??????? 20. First Peter 65 = Peter 21. Second Peter 66 = Peter 22. Jude 70 = Jude 23. John 85 = John 24. 1 John 86 = John 25. 2 John 87 = John 26. 3 John 88 = John 27. Revelation 90 = John ----------------------------- The only book written before Paul corrupted the teachings of Jesus is ''The Book of James'' who was also the half brother of Jesus Christ ! So, think yourself in the shoes of James, This is the Year 45 C.E. Jesus Christ has gone just 13-15 years ago. Not a single book of the New Testament has written yet. So James thinks he should write the teachings of Jesus , so that later people could know & follow the teachings of Jesus . so he wrote the first book of N.T - ''The book of James''. So go and read the ''Book of James'' today. And See yourself that you could find even any hints of ''Original sin'' or ''Trinity'' or ''Crucifixion'' or ''Jesus is God'' there. That book has got nothing contradictory to Islam. Because Jesus preached only Islam, The Pure & Absolute Oneness of God. ''The Book of James'' addresses only the 12 tribes of Jew's, Because Jesus was sent only to the Jew's. and teaches how beautifully they should follow the Law. Because The Devil Paul has not arrived yet, So James did not know his false teachings. so he did not mention any of those lies. This is why, Though this book was written first, but you will always find it at last in the N.T. Ask yourself a simple common sense question, If Jesus would preached Salvation by ''Crucifixion'' , or ''Original sin'' or ''Trinity'' , or ''Jesus is God'', then why his own brother did not mention any of those ??? Did he thought those are not important enough to mention ?? Do you think he forgot to mention The Most Basic Creeds of Christian Theology ??? or, he did not mention it because, Jesus never preached those crazy lunatic ideas ?? which is sound logical ?? and also ask yourself, How could Paul preached those crazy ideas who never ever even saw Jesus in his entire Life ??? And also ask yourself, What will you say to God in the Day of Judgement, when HE will ask you, why you abandoned Jesus & accepted the false teachings of Paul the devil ?? And know this very clearly- Christianity is the religion of Paul. It has got nothing to do with Jesus Christ(pbuh). It only uses(misuses) his blessed name. I’m enjoying reading the comments and replies to this video. Personally, I happen to believe that Paul was nothing more than an opportunist who used his knowledge of Jewish scriptures and history to build a new cult. Whenever someone says that in [insert book, chapter, verse here] it says “[insert Bible quote here],” I have to dismiss the argument as “For the Bible Tells Me So.” My Irish and Scandinavian ancestors weren’t Jews so they wouldn’t have given one shit about Adam, Eve, Noah, David or any so-called prophesy about a messiah. That didn’t come to my homeland until a church that couldn’t mind its own business (an issue that still plagues the church today), launched crusades to basically force Christianity onto the indigenous people, wherever they showed up. So to anyone who is offended by this lecturer suggesting that Paul invented Christianity, get over it. That’s what happened. Try not to presuppose that the Bible is the inerrant word of God. Critically investigate how Christianity even became a thing.

Basically Paul made the Christians Christian. Jesus peace be upon him was a prophet and since Paul could not defeat him by force he corrupted the religion from the inside until he made the Christians worship Jesus as he either wanted Jesus to be an ordinary person or god, anything to reject him being a divinely appointed prophet of God.

Substitute Marcion for the name Paul and it makes more sense. "His churches"? Examine the timeline. He went to spread the word, and then wrote letters to churches already established? LOL

yes Marcion corrupted Pauls letters

@@Doriesep6622 I will look this marcion up.Ok then why do we.lean so heavily on them when it comes to doctrine.Then the whole faith is corrupted.Smh.Truth is twisted in the pulpit.Too much.This should be common knowledge and should not be relied on so heavily.Weak doctrine all over the place.

the faithless built no civilizations & Islam is the only preserved faith so humanity as a whole testifies Islam is true. atheism has no virtue & tool under marxism tyranny. building least, maiming most... not a good record. atheism is pushed by dajjal's ppl, like how paul taught lawless man worship so his farisi money $ changers can pay rulers like lobbies do today, making christianity more lawless so the farisis can rule a destructured disunited ppl, thats why the so called new atheism should really be called neo con atheism.

While Surah Fatiha teaches us to be the middle path, to not be restrictive and tyrannical like the yeahood or loose and lawless like the nasara but united and balanced under justice and Tawhid. Have knowledge and act upon it! As Malik Shabazz aka Malcolm X said, ONeness of Lord to = Oneness of Man! Islam taught the west race equality and halted marxism tyranny! reflect on aipac lobby with the left & right the left used to de-structure family with fake science & marxism and right for their structure bigotry in group level. so its a 2 wings of a bird, one to destructure you & another to structure tyranny...

@Charles Davis Pick up a Quran and read. I'm a Muslim. The ONLY people on the face of the earth who uphold and preach and defend the doctrine and honor of Jesus OF THE BIBLE are the Muslim. The Bible testifies. *BY THE FRUITS YE SHALL KNOW THEM* Thanks to Saul aka Paul the Feroci0us W0LF in SHEEP'S clothing whom Jesus WARNED about, it's Christianity / Christians making a 🚩 *LIAR of Jesus of the Bible* till the end of times. The Bible testifies 🔥 1) ✔️ Jesus: THE FATHER IS THE ONLY TRUE GOD. ✖️ Christians: NO. The Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit (The Trinity) is the true God. 2) ✔️Jesus: NO payment needed, NO Jesus died for us. Just repent sincerely and the Merciful God (THE ONLY TRUE GOD - THE FATHER) forgives. ✖️ Christians: NO. Salvation comes by the blood of Jesus and his dying on the cross 3) ✔️ Jesus: Keep the Laws and the commandments if you want eternal life ✖️ Christians: NO. Eternal life comes by faith in the sacrifice of Jesus 4) ✔️ Jesus: Do NOT neglect even the smallest laws ✖️ Christians: NO. Those laws are unimportant 5) ✔️ Jesus: I was sent ONLY for the lost sheep of Israel ✖️ Christians: NO. Jesus came for us all, Jesus came for all of mankind **********************************
