(I'm not sure why my original comment got deleted? But I'll repeat it again) Not the best timing for this one... However, I had to pay my respects to a real one, the Lion of Damascus himself. Please pray for Syria, and in particular Syrian Christians who will undoubtedly face more persecution and slаughter, as a result of the recent developments in Syria. Assad acted as the protector for Syrian Christians and other religious minorities. Now, unfortunately, Syria looks like it might go down the road of Libya and Iraq. Trading Assad for Al Q**da and other Israeli/Turkey/CIA-funded Islamist rebels is definitely a downgrade, whether you like Assad or not. St. Ephrem of Syria, pray for Syria! Ora pro nobis! 🇸🇾✝🙏

We witnessed the greatest betrayal in human history, where Bashar Al-Assad was sold out by his generals where as result the entire Syrian army vanished into non existence with exception of some servicemen that tried to fight back in Homs. You can not win if the army disbands without giving a fight and abandoning position after position and city after city. What a disgrace. All we can do is pray now for the Syrian people that will likely suffer under the Islamist, that already posted videos of what they do to their enemies that fall into their hands. ☦️❤️🇸🇾

🇸🇾 This will forever be the one and only Syrian flag ! I was raised loving that flag, and when i see that flag, i see Syria. I can't stand that opposition attrocity. Like why do they have to change the flag ? The flag has got nothing to do with anything. It's a flag of Syria, not a flag of the regime. Plus the flag is a reminder of what once was a great idea- the unity with Egypt and later planned unity with Iraq and the era of the rule of the greatest president Gemal Abdel Nasser. This flag also reminds of brotherhood with Iraq, Egypt, And Yemen even without bein in unity. Which is exactly why the flag must go. "they" hate those ideas, just like they hated Saddam, and Ghaddafi, which is also why the original Iraqi and Libyan flags were changed. This is how a land, and identity is being erased. Slowly. Step by step. The opposition fooIs can straight up ad 6 pointed stars into it.

It's not Over, Assad is still not dead. Assad can come Back if Syrian people will ask him to come Back. But for now Syrians need experience without Assad.

I usually don't do confessions on KZbin but this is historical! I lived in Syria for 25 years. I experienced both Hafez and Bachar era. Based on my personal experience, life under Hafez (Bachar's dad) was way worse. If you looked like a foreigner you'd be followed in the streets and constantly harassed by the Mukhabarat (Former Syrian secret services). Under Bachar it got slightly better (again based on my personal experience) we stopped being harassed in public for no reason but overall it has always been a paranoid and violent regime and we had to be very careful about what we say or do whether it's in public, on the internet or over the phone (fun fact: I was talking to my friend over the phone and that dude from secret service had his mic on and he was talking to his collegue. I asked him to shut his mic so I could carry on talking to my friend) . Assad system had multiple security branches and they were all spying each other as well. I'm glad the whole Assad clan disappeared, it had to be done they were horrible people but I'm genuinely concerned now it will get worse in a near future. That "Joulani" dude is a former ISIS/Al Qaida fighter. I hope Syria will see a brighter future and I want Syria to have a brighter future but I'm being a bit pessimistic at the moment. From my point of view Syria got rid of a criminal and is now replaced by another criminal wolf pretending to be a sheep and he's an islamist as well! . Wait and see as we say. If I had to say a few positive things about the Assad system is that it was so violent that criminals would behave and it was a very safe country before civil war started, (nobody wants to be tortured for shoplifting or doing drugs), women (without the veil) could walk at 3am on their own and no one would approach them. Also it didn't matter if you're Muslim or Christian: no one was persecuted based on religious beliefs. It feels like we're going for a massive downgrade now. The goal of a revolution is to improve things, not making things even worse. But based on the general syrian population they are embracing the worst and celebrating.

why are they celebrating?
@foufoudoudou299Күн бұрын
@ because people are tired of all those years of dictatorship. It’s euphoria mode which is understandable. But something tells me they’ll go back on earth soon. It’s replacing a bad guy with a different bad guy imo

@@foufoudoudou299 which rights were denied to them under assad?
@foufoudoudou299Күн бұрын
@ basic human rights. Country was full corrupted. To get a passport done for exemple you had to bribe all the staff or your passport would still not be ready after a year. You could also get arrested for having the same name as someone they’re looking for, be tortured for months until they realised their mistake. Of course none of your relatives would know where you disappeared. Any criticism towards the regime or any funny caricatures you’d send through the internet would get you arrested (and tortured). As a civilian you would be constantly monitored. Where you go, what you do for a living. Basically the Assad system was controlling every aspect of each citizens life. The mukhabarat (secret service) were mixed with the general population (1 out of 10 was a member of the mukhabarat). It could be your neighbour or the street cleaner. Makes you feel paranoid as you know you’re constantly being watched. Phone calls and internet usage were monitored and recorded in real time. That’s just a few exemples
