One of the best shows ever! I'm from '76 so it's the last two / three years I've watched and in black and white. Later off course the reruns in color. I remember you could get an autograph of the General Lee, it was a photo of the imprint of the car tire in the sand. At the time of broadcasting around 1985 there was here, in the Frisian part of the Netherlands, a replica of the "General", must have been one of the first. Thanks for those great video's John Schneider !!

John... I really enjoy the messages you send out to all the loyal fans throughout these past few weeks. There will never be another Dukes of Hazard! Or any show like it! Loved that the whole family could sit down and enjoy it all together! I truly miss it! About a year ago I was in Denver flying back to Los Angeles... Well guess who I saw? My first crush Miss Catherine Bach! She is still so beautiful... Inside as well as out! Well I just had to say something. I got up out of my seat and told my wife I had to say hello. She is was so polite and so wonderful... Even after telling her I was her biggest fan! She is all class and made my trip. I am so glad the cast is doing well. I really miss seeing Tom on Longmire. John, it really means a lot to all of us fans that you take the time out of your day to share time with us. You always seem to talk about perfect topics for my day. You get me going. Thank you! If you happen to talk to Cathetine wish her a Happy Mother's day! And let her know it meant a lot that she shook my hand on that flight out of Denver. Still makes me smile! God bless! #Dukes

Thank you for documenting what it was like on "Dukes". It's informative and interesting and much appreciated. I also enjoyed reading your book, "My Life, My Way". It's great to learn from a different perspective about how TV shows worked. When you grew up watching a show, you really had no idea of what all was involved in it. I guess that's what they call the "magic of television". Again, Thanks.

Scneider - the more you tell us about what it was like on the Dukes of Hazzard..the more i appreciate you all's contribution to my child hood. let my give you some insight on being a child in the Ford residence durring the time Dukes was on the air. movie weekend didnt start for us kids until saturday, friday and friday evening was family day, sunday we all went to church, ect. ok there were 8 of us, my two older brothers passed away in 88...Fridays was family night, we went out to dinner, kids were bathed and in night clothes before 8pm..dad taped episodes on Betamax VCR recorder..no one spoke durring an episode, no sleep overs on Fridays. now come saturday - thats a different story, saturday was our day, from breakfast uptil supper time, we were literally on our own for the day. 2 eldest sisters baby sitted, ect. Sunday was th eLords day, church in the am, and night..No family ever prepared for friday nights or the weekend like my parents did. starting with the Dukes, then Dallas, and then Midnight speacial...something like that..we ALL loved the show, the Dukes was and always will be a Ford family tradition. was anyone elses house hold simular?

I just wanted to thank you for old Friday night memories when my dad and I watched the Dukes. It was one of the few shows he and I both enjoyed. Daddy passed away years ago, but I remember him sitting in his recliner, laughing especially at Rosco P. Coltrane. Thank you also for your unabashed conservative stand on so many important issues today. Daddy would give you a thumbs up, too. Towards the end of his life, he set up a rented store front as a Republican headquarters in his small hometown in Middle Tennessee. Back in that day, that county and much of my dad’s family were strongly Democrat, so his Republican stand led to some good-natured ribbing from the locals, which Dad took in good stride.

I had just watched your video on the loss of our freedoms and didnt even know it was you until you said it was...the hat. You rarely wear hats. Keep up the good work. I totally agree with what you said. Sheep to the slaughter so to speak. God is angry with us and is letting us know. After all, we've taken Him out of everything, and He has a right to let us know He's upset. Our church has become a drive in service. It works but very different. My dad was a minister and would be upset to see how service has changed for now. Like you, I believe this will end and pray hard that God will be welcomed back by all. If not, then we've only seen a preview of what's to come. I believe our President is a God fearing man trying to take care of our beautiful America!! He loves our troops and our Veterans. God bless you. Stay safe.

All good through - fame is the last thing I'm after! I don't know how you guys deal with all the attention. I think it would drive me nuts. :) Whoever that guy was that had to track down Waylon, he must've had alot of fun I bet! 😁 The world's definitely not the same without Waylon in it. I can only dream of the albums that would be out if he were still with us. I just recently started listening to country from the 50's on up. Man, I had no idea what I was missing! They don't play the good stuff on the radio up here in MA. I had never heard any of it before. Been listening to the free SiriusXM the past month and a half. Got it on Waylon Jennings Radio now - got George Jones on as I type. MAN this stuff is fantastic!! Alabama is my new favorite as well. As soon as this covid crap is over with, I need to buy some of your albums, John - I've been missing out! Sure wish I had your view out my back door, too. @@thedude4672 I'm not 3 years old here, dude! I understand the gist of what he was saying. People will thumbs down videos for a number of reasons. Trolls don't need a reason - it's just what they do. Others get offended at anything and everything and thumbs it down. In the end - whatever the reason for it, most of the time it involves people who dislike and or are offended. As for having no reason - oddballs will thumbs videos up or down without having watched someone's video at all. I've gotten my share as well. Only in my case, I actually do have crappy videos. LoL

John, I don't know if you'll see this or not, but I'm hoping you will. My question is: What constitutes a "first unit" and a "second unit" when it comes to a TV show? I've heard these terms used often, but I've never truly understood what's involved. Thank you for "The Dukes of Hazzard"; that show got me started on my hobby studying musclecar history. The "General Lee" inspired me to look into the history of the Dodge Charger, and that in turn led me to learning about all the other cars that Chrysler Motor Corporation built (Barracuda, Challenger, Road Runner, etc.), and then I branched out still further into musclecars from ALL of the American car builders. Thank you John!

I have a Dukes question. How many reaction episodes are out there, and have you thought about making more? When I say reaction episodes, I'm talking about those episodes you did some years back where you, Catherine Bach, and Tom Wopat sat down and watched a Dukes episode, and you had a camera/mic on as you were watching. I remember buying the DVD box sets from Walmart, and I thought it was really good fun seeing you all react, or listening to you all react, to the various episodes. I'm pretty sure "One Armed Bandits" was one, and I know that Luke's boxing episode was another. I kinda would've liked to see a reaction for all of the episodes, on a casual basis. Edit: On a related note, one of the DVD box sets I bought had a recording error. The DVDs were recorded on both sides, and on one side of one disc, there were episodes of The Waltons instead of episodes of The Dukes of Hazzard. Unfortunately, I exchanged the DVD box set instead of buying another box set, so I don't have it anymore. But did you know about that error? Has anyone else ever mentioned it to you?

Mr. Schneider, I want to thank you, the other cast members, and the crew members for the great job your did with the Dukes of Hazzard. The show was entertaining. But it was wholesome. It depicted good values. It depicted love of country. I could go on and on saying good things about it. During the years the show was on I was 8 to 14. I introduced my daughter and my son to your show. They also love it. I can be confident that while the show is entertaining them it is also teaching them good values and pride in the American way. From the time my son was a year and a half old he loved cars and motor cycles. The other show my son likes is CHiPs. That show had a lot of the same outstanding characteristics as the Duke of Hazzard. I think that being part of something special like that must have been very fulfilling for you. But I do want to let you know how grateful my family is for what you and the others working on that show were able to accomplish. Sincerely, Matthew J. Thomas
