I met Chris after the KFD gig in Wolverhampton UK. He was the most honest, polite and down to earth bloke I have ever met - proper salt of the earth! Had time to talk with the fans etc etc. Unlike someone else who clearly was having a monumentally bad night when he stormed out of the building and onto the bus... Chris said "...I just wanna play..." And you could tell he lived for every moment on stage! I was down the front getting drenched by his sweat during Animal and it fucking ROCKED!!!! Chris -You and Angus Young are the reasons I started playing guitar and 35 years later am still playing!!! Never fucking stop dude. You are a veteran who shall never die in our hearts! Best wishes from the UK. Ade.

Chris is right, it's horrible how the rock scene diminished in the US. Going through the 90's was like being punished for something you didn't do but eventually Heavy Metal bands started slowly coming back around but that depended where you lived, back then if you wanted to see a band live many times you would have to drive over an hour from home. It eventually got somewhat better in time, in the late 90's/early 2000's we'd have to drive to North Jersey from Philadelphia because many times bands were not getting booked here, the Metal scene was always way better in north Jersey then in Philadelphia. We made that trip dozens of times, I lost count. Unfortunately, as a whole Rock/Metal seems to be doing much better outside of the US. I'm jealous when I see the huge crowds in other countries versus what's happening here. It's mind-blowing how that happened.

@maxxxmodelz40615 жыл бұрын
Back in the 80s they did look a lot alike. Very much so. However, looking at Chris now vs back 30 years ago, wow. It's clear he lived hard and fast. That's a drastic difference in his appearance. I know everyone ages, but Blackie doesn't look that much different, and neither do a lot of the guys from back in that era (most are just a little fatter and have some more gray hair). Chris looks like a completely different human being.

WASP was a great band. I'm 49 now which is old AF. How did I/we get here? Time. Fun fact: Axl Rose obsessed over WASP. I honestly thought Chris Holmes was dead. I would have bet money he was. Maybe it was the "Decline of western civilization tapes" which put that in my head. Not sure.

Nice to see Chris as a 'survivor'. Why did he leave WASP initially anyway?
@j.m.ziadeh30215 жыл бұрын
According to Chris, Blackie wasn't paying him any album royalties which forced Chris to get a job in construction just to pay the bills. Some interviews state that Chris' hands were roughed up from the construction work which created even further problems when it came to studio work when called upon by Blackie. Around that time, Chris also refused to play/record "Hold on to my Heart" which Blackie originally intended to be on The Headless Children record (in my opinion, that decision was probably for the best - Headless was perfect without it). After The Headless Children tour, Chris left the band (after years of rumors), Blackie fired the rest of the band, went solo and put out The Crimson Idol with Hold On To My Heart finally added.

If his name is in the songwriting credits he should get some cash. And his name is in some early albums (and those are the only albums that sold millions) so yes it looks like he should get royalties from the albums that actually sold lots of copies.
@bellmeisterful4 жыл бұрын
@@sirmrguitardude Actually album covers that give songwriting credits dont mean anything legally. It depends on the contract that is signed. Chris didn't read the contract, he basically did what many of us would have done , just signed. He had no idea they had him listed as a session guitarist. Never got one royalty
