The speaker misspeaks around 10:40. The speaker says that Avista Utilities is out of the southwest. Avista Utilities is located in Spokane, WA and runs utilities infrastructure in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.

Question. Let’s say for example the Government of a certain nation was in need of purchasing natural gas for their country, at which point in the “stream” or which type of company would they go to?

Great Presentation/learning experience, but allow me to describe the LNG as "sub-cooled" liquid , not "super-cooled" liquid. I know it could be said unintentionally "super" while you mean "sub-". Thanks again for this excellent overview which I presented to my students.

lets re categorise energy into sections, high density gas oil etc etc and low density wind solar and other passive accumulation methods, then we can start considering how to manage the earths resources better according to what we may want to achieve with them at a later date. rather than only thinking of the here and now.

California has some counties where every house is registered to operate a oil well on their property. California has Tons of oil below but thanks to fear mongering people think you need to be a multibillion dollar company . I think in my A1 opinion interpretation

Natural gas is a fossil fuel, though the global warming emissions from its combustion are much lower than those from coal or oil. Natural gas emits 50 to 60 percent less carbon dioxide (CO2) when combusted in a new, efficient natural gas power plant compared with emissions from a typical new coal plant from National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). Considering only tailpipe emissions, natural gas also emits 15 to 20 percent less heat-trapping gases than gasoline when burned in today’s typical vehicle from U.S. Department of Energy. Burning natural gas in vehicles is to deliver even marginal benefits, methane losses must be kept below 1 percent and 1.6 percent compared with diesel fuel and gasoline, respectively. Technologies are available to reduce much of the leaking methane, but deploying such technology would require new policies and investments (Bradbury et al. 2013). Replacing coal with natural gas is not the best idea in the electricity sector, it is not an effective long-term climate strategy, natural gas offer very important benefits in the longer term cleaner choice. Our green livelihood and conducive to maintaining health and preventing disease, especially by being clean; sanitary, "zero" (approaches) carbon emissions etc.. Cheers.

EPA and the oil and gas industry have always known all about the methane problem and the government response is to do nothing and look the other way to protect this extraction industry from having operate responsibly and to spend to control it. Industry sells it as "natural" gas hoping consumers wont notice that its Methane [CH4], one of the most lethal per unit and significant in terms of volumes exposing the public - far more dangerous than its competition: nuclear power station waste. Methane leaks unlike nuclear power are 80x more potent per unit weight than CO2 as a GHG, and there are many thousands of methane sources, mostly ongoing leaks at well heads and pumping stations and pipelines. Only a society eager for collapse could keep this up.
