Thanks William. This video presented a brainstorm for me in another direction. For awhile now I've been a proponent of using a modular setup for a get home/bug out system. It occurred to me while watching this that an external frame could be a way to accomplish that. The internal frame/no frame people (except 3V Gear in measly way) have shown no inclination to accommodate that idea -at least none that I've seen.

I talk about modular pack systems in this Bug out series. This is part 1 of a 5 part series. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4HZhmqKibWngpo

This video probably discusses the system more in depth. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGWuYmVof7eJiqM

In the last few years Ive come to mostly the same conclusion about frames and just recently mounted a Canadian Pattern 82 rucksack bag on my LK35 frame. It is now the most bullet proof pack I own for about $60 Canadian. That is with buying a new ALICE belt.

Sounds like a great pack.

William Collins it is, forgot to add that I use the Pattern 82 shoulder harness as well. It is very similar to the American USGI MOLLE 2 but not as refined.

Adam Smith If you are in the USA and can not inspect the Canadian pack yourself I advise against getting one. Instead look for a large ALICE pack, they also fit the frame reasonably well.

I have been wanting to mount my frost river to a BulPac. But 250 for a frame is hard to swallow.

I bought an old l35 for $20 but want to change the ruc sac. I like the frame. Are there any other half decent ruc sacs that fit an l35 frame? Has anyone fitted other ruc sacs to l-35? Maybe other surplus packs? Really like the Duluth but probably bit outta my range right now. Really nice job on those packs, perfect combination

Medium alice pack should fit.

Hey William. You're great. I've a Frost river large bushcraft pack ( with the additional sidepocket's !! ). Since long time I try to optimized it with an external frame. In this moment it's a bucket can inside, but it' s not optimal. In past I tried to fit a lk35 frame on to it, but itwas zo small. Now I've ordered a swedish sani pack which is the same like the lk35 with a larger frame. I think you have one , too. Now I will try to fix it on to my frost river isle royle bushcraft pack . But I will try to take it with the original straps. Otherwise I've seen the bullpac frame which is fantastic and bombproof. If the larger lk35 frame not work good I will try to attach the bullpac frame like you it did. You own a frost river large bushcraft pack too. Do you think it's possible to attach the large swedish frame on it? The frame you fit on your wanderer, is it the normal lk35 frame or the large from the sani pack. Greating ...Manuel

On either of those packs, is there place to put an axe? Like a pass through pocket? And is there a place to attach a bedroll? Really considering getting the Rambler but I would like to have these features. Thanks for the information!
@wcknives8 жыл бұрын
Brennan Jones - Bushcraft and Survival modifications can be added for a bedroll or even possibly an axe when you order direct from Duluth. They do not have bed roll loops or place for axe outside of the pack as standard. They do have packs with this feature though if you visit their web site. Appreciate your view and comment.
