It is 4:22 a.m., November 4, 2024. I just discovered this band. They are amazing! A combination of good rock music, femininity, beauty and elegance. And this video is mesmerizing. 💖💋🎸

Phenomenal. The tone of the guitars, the vocals, Sune Rose Wagner's production -- rock in a minor key doesn't get any better than this.

Hey, I see from pics taken May 1, 2014 at the London, Scala gig kicking off DDGs' European tour that Dee Dee's hubby Brandon, whose band Crocodiles opened, was wearing his Arthur Rimbaud tee shirt, the very one with the famous "Rimbaud eyes" photo of the poet Dee Dee says inspired her to write the song she sang later that eve. Nice tie-in!

This is a very cool band. i like this video but they are better live. Very cool song, Rimbaud, of course, deserves the attention. I like how they used bits of his poem "The Drunken Boat". Good to hear that is still inspiring us. I put bits of that poem and a couple other Rimbaud pieces to music too, ( i know it is not quite to so great an effect as the dd girls version). I will paste the link to my version of Druken Boat, not sure if it will work though..... Rimbaud Drunken Boat

ok maybe im crazy, but I swear that when this song first came out, there was another music video, a black and white film short that appeared to be set in France that showed the day-to-day life of a young upstart the criminal underworld (shows him doing heists on motorcycles and collecting debts etc.) Does this sound familiar to anybody? im trying to track down that video and I cannot find it for the life of me. maybe im nuts and it was a video for a different song, but im certain it was this one! please help people!

Aatif Nanji they did. it wasn't marketable since they got more popular. the big eye lashes and girl based theme sells more so that video is dead now. I like the song when it first came out and I saw the video your talking about. I can't find it now also. You're not crazy. I've seen it too

Suze Rotolo introduced Bob Dylan to the works of Rimbaud: "I came across one of his letters called 'Je est un autre,' which translates into "I is someone else." When I read those words the bells went off. It made perfect sense. I wished someone would have mentioned that to me earlier." Bob Dylan: "Chronicles, vol 1."

Otherwise I can't respect them for dropping the first video that got them on the internet. Otherwise it just seems more of a corporate band exposed to make money off some chick with good looks and a hook song.

She pronounces Rimbaud wrong, which is fairly embarrassing. It's not RIMbaud, like the rims of a car, or a rim job. It's French. It's closer to RAMbaud, like a Ram or ramming into something, but more accurately in between RAMbaud and REMbaud, in the French pronunciation. There's even a KZbin video for it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqLYZWalprGcaJI
@SlowDIIV9 жыл бұрын
