Brent, I really appreciate your honesty regarding your disengaging a bit from people in your surroundings. It hit home for me. I live half of the year in America and I have a place in Cebu City. I spend most of my time with my girlfriend and her family. I only venture out to meet other foreigners occasionally wanting/needing to communicate with others who share common experiences and language. I’m usually disappointed and I’m not in a hurry to talk with other foreigners. Complainers,know it all’s. Etc. I intend on searching for other like like minded foreigners when I get back this month. Philippino’s are great people but I need more familiarity being that I’m on the other side of the world. I’ve subscribed so I’ll check in to see how things are coming along. Wishing you the best!

There’s nothing wrong with travelling solo in foreign lands. That’s what I’m doing in Japan. But in Hiroshima I was in an Oyster Bar (They’re a specialty there) and I struck up a conversation with a nice American guy who’s been in Japan for several months and we stayed until closing. I’m fine with my own company but it’s great when you just connect with someone and you can be talking for hours. Then perhaps you never see each other again.

You have to be careful with Schwab, NFCU as well. They like to cancel if they determine you are there permanent. Many folks have no issues, but some get the surprise and nothing works. Even though I was just there for a couple weeks and had the trip noted, NFCU locked my card and I had to spend an hour on the phone to get it straight.
@niccum8002Ай бұрын
I have NFCU. You have to be sure to add your location in your travel plans on their app periodically. I do it for two or three months at a time. Problem solved.

Dumaguete has the vibe of Bangkok back in the 60’s and 70’s however, I’m just not inspired by the looks of things. I do see that they drive on the right side of the roads as apposed to driving on the left side of the roads in Thailand also, the speak English in the P. I. How do you compare Dumaguete to other mid to large size cities in the P. I.? I noticed that the beach area is not so glamorous in Dumaguete. You said in one video that you had spent some time in Thailand. Do you prefer P. I. Over Thailand? Do you miss living in Texas? I lived in San Antonio, Texas and have visited Austin Dallas and Houston. I owned some land over in East Texas (Livingston area) but sold it a year or two back. I enjoyed living in Texas. Of course Texas women are awesome too.

Brent, you remind me of the epitome of a good ole boy. I love that, try a trip to Ormoc city. It’s a small town. Not many other foreigners. Looks about like Duma. There aren’t many available girls in their 30’s or above. I tried for a year to resist the young ones but there weren’t any old ones. Nice teaching or nursing students, that go to church. It’s not all bad having a young wife, she is not going you to any credit for being older that she will try to let you see anyway. You get over the age gap real quick except when she gets naked. From a Texan to an Okie. I enjoy your content too.

Dude, if I went down any street in the US and made my video shoeing only the damn street, is that video worthy? No! Neither is this video worth anyone’s time!
@northernbohemianrealistАй бұрын
No. One of the things my ex-wife wanted to see was a US neighborhood street. All the movies showed these tree-lined quiet areas with two story homes, yards, and no people. Growing up in Penang, she thought it was impossible. Then she got to Wisconsin and it was just like the movies. I liked this video. There isn't a single block that is anything like this where I live. Turned around, I think Filipinos would marvel at a Wisconsin downtown in January, with the clothes, snowbanks, and complete lack of motorcycles.
