36:21 Us Brits also had our own unintentional UAV moment with a Harrier in Germany in 1972. It hit a flock of geese while at low altitude and the engine spun down so the pilot pulled the handle and banged out, but as he ejected the exhaust from the ejection system cleared the goose remains out of the Harriers intake and the engine promptly started back up again and the jet carried on its merry way through the German skies, broadcasting a Mayday signal as it flew along at around 20,000 ft near the inner-German border. A Luftwaffe F-104 went up, and was quite surprised to find the Harrier flying along without a pilot in it, fortunately the UAV Harrier didn't defect, instead choosing to fly along quite happily for 38 minutes, run out of fuel and glide into an open field in southern Denmark, narrowly missing a farm house.

The Silvanski IS ALMOST killed 2 out of its 4 test pilots. the Christmas Bullet DID kill BOTH of its 2 test pilots. Largely due to the fact its designer thought putting struts between the wings of biplanes was a stupid idea and his would be so much faster because it had none. Structual rigidity? What's that?

Disclaimer: For the sake of brevity, when I say Fascism, I'm lumping Nazism in there as well. Gotta love how there are actually people who think that if you make fun of Communism (and its offshoots) somehow that must mean you have zero issue with Fascism (and its offshoots) and vice versa. When the reality is, both Communism and Fascism are two of the great failures of the 20th Century and they absolutely should be mocked. They are two sides of a failed coin. Mind you, the coin analogy falls flat when you introduce liberal democracy to the mix, but I digress. All three ideologies, Communism (Marxism really), Fascism, and and the modern iteration of Liberal Democracy, all strive for one thing: Utopia. Yes, Fascism is a Utopian ideology. People gasp at that thought, Fascism is the great evil after all, how could Fascism be a Utopian ideology? Simple. I never said utopia was even possible. In reality, every attempt at Utopia has led to a dystopian hellscape of mass death or war, sometimes both and Fascism is no exception. The confusion comes in because Fascism did not strive for universal utopia, but only a utopia for their chosen ethnic nationality. That's still a utopia, just not the one we generally think of when we think of the word. I argue that in the future the 20th century will be seen as the century of Utopian Struggle between three major ideologies: Communism/Marxism, Fascism, and modern Liberal Democracy. The latter two, despite being products of the Enlightenment, rejected every ideal espoused by it and they both failed within the 20th century as a result. The few states that currently espouse either of these ideologies are either failed states or states well on their way to becoming failed states. Modern Liberal Democracy on the other hand developed directly from Enlightenment ideals, but they ended up infusing 20th century ideological thought into their ideology, meaning, they'll be the last to fail. As for where Modern Liberal Democracies are headed? Fascism went out in war. Communism went out in a whimper. And I believe... Liberal Democracy will go out in silence.

55:28 Theoretically, it could be that Brazil took a frank look at their military capabilities and realized they could only make a meaningful contribution if they sunk everything they had into one front. Why Italy specifically and not, say, the South Pacific, I dunno. Personally, I think a nation of people already used to tropical and jungle-y conditions, with presumably appropriately modified equipment, would handle the Indochina or Indonesian theaters better. Especially considering they'd be going up against the IJA and not the Werhmacht (and thus fighting an opponent with inferior equipment). That having been said, there's probably a definite reason I'm unaware of.
