Thank you for debunking these stupid trends on TikTok and social media. I think they do it just to get attention. But some of them are very harmful. People must use common sense when they see these things, as most of these new ideas are just crazy and stupid. So glad you came out publicly and said that. I agree with you 100%

Thanks for the recommendations re expired skincare (I think it was this video -- I've watched several of your videos twice and can't remember for sure, lol). It's easy to procrastinate in "editing" good skincare because it's so expensive. Yet when we find something we like better, it's hard to go back! I had a large collection of expired luxury skincare products but I kept avoiding tossing any of it. Haven't used preservtative-free Chantecaille in a long time, so finally tossed it all. Interestingly I had over 100 Valmont samples that come with orders from a spa -- all w/o expiration dates -- so I decided to toss. This was hard to do -- but also cathartic! Spring Cleaning!

Desi has some of the best information and advice on YT. Especially for luxury skincare… I known I can get cheaper Korean skincare or drug store skincare but the only I get the more specific products I need. Quality ingredients… Desi turned me to some really amazing products!

More is more in skincare:) I love it and I agree with you wholeheartedly on this. I started seeing results (and quick once I must say) only when I combined a few potent products together (tretinoin, peptides, growth factors, acids, antioxidants, and a few others). So yes, consistency and a few high-quality products can make a change.

omgggg i agree.....my pet peeve is seeing these youtube dermatologists "reviewing" products that they LITERALLY haven't even used. All they are doing is sitting there, reading the description of the product and reading through the ingredients....like you haven't even used it, this is not a review lol. It's infuriating lol

Hello I just discovered your channel today and have watched 6 videos in a row! I’m 70 and have always had pretty good skin. However I lost 35 kg 3 years ago and have a good amount of lines around my jowls now! Could you please mention the brand you would recommend for mature skin? 🙏💃🏻
@desistark6 ай бұрын
Hi! Thank you for watching! Yes, sudden loss of weight contributes to visible aging. I recommend Calecim Recovery and Tretinoin if you can tolerate it. And a good hydrating moisturizer on tips It takes a bit of time but you will see progress over time. This would be the most basic routine. 💛💛💛🌷🌷🌷

Hi girl, once again happy to see you. I always know you have amazing advices for us. Maybe you can give me tips how to wash off foundation from the skin. Coming out from the shower and thought my face was absolutely clean obviously using couple of different pricey cleansers and then I start cleaning my face with BR P50 and I lost my mind, I changed maybe 10 cotton balls full with the foundation. I literally freaked out. That means I never ever clean my Face Properly? By the way, I just start using P50 because of you and thank you.

😄 Hi!! 💛 I usually apply a balm cleanser before I get into the shower and work it into the skin. Then I use a wet washcloth to remove it. Then I get into the shower and use a 2nd cleanser while there. 🌷🌷💛

Anu thoughts/comments on the "trend" of only washing with water in the morning. Meaning the only time you really clease your face is at night. I dont think it makes sense, esp when at night i use retinol
@desistark4 ай бұрын
I have a short on this. I am very much against it. This is an obsolete mentality. We have gentle enough cleansers now to use as often as we want. Plus, hair products stick to your pillowcase during the night and transfer to your skin. I personally don’t want to walk around all day long with hair product on my face. 😄So definitely using a cleanser in the morning.

Thank you! For very dry skin: luxury - La Prairie, especially the gold line. Budget - InnBeauty Extreme Cream.

I bought yhe Innbeauty extreme cream just because I saw them before and after pictures of the sagging jowls and the improvement made. I’m 68 and I definitely have some sagging. I saw improvement in five days! I could not believe it… I did not have high expectations. But this cream actually does what it says and it is a decent price. I’m already on my second bottle and I will continue to use it. I haven’t found anything out there that beats it, even all the luxury brands.This gives very good results and extremely nourishing. I love it so much. Good luck with it!

Love the video, as always everything is right on point! Can we please talk about the latest BR disappointment - I can't believe they are discontinuing the creme masque vernix cream - this is the mother of all creams for me. They now have a VG version and the ingredients are nothing special. Are there any creme masque vernix dupes you can recommend?
@desistark9 ай бұрын
Thank you!! Thank you! 🌹 Yes, I’m hugely disappointed as well. They are ruining the brand. I will test the new Vernix but so far every reformulation has been a let down. There is nothing on the market that comes even close to the original Vernix. There are lots of great products but this one is hard to duplicate.

What do you recommend using for blackheads on nose and face?
@desistark6 ай бұрын
Definitely Biologique Recherche Lotion P50. If you’re in the US, I’d go with the original P50 1970. Traditionally Salicylic Acid is a good ingredient for blackheads but the P50 has 4 so you maximize the potency. Most people also do extraction but I’d try the P50 first. 💛💛💛

Can you compare Calecim and Auteur products please
@desistark9 ай бұрын
I’ve made separate videos on both brands…In summary: Calecim has a heavy concentration and it’s best for a growth factor product; Auteur excels with the most successful and highest concentration of peptides. Technically you need both growth factor and peptides in anti-aging.

I would add that the efficiency of a product is not always linked to the price. For example, prescription retinol is not pricey but the most effective for anti aging. I have tried many expensive products that did nothing. There are a few ones that are working but it is not always the case (I am 40 YO).

Okay now I'm dying to know your age lol. You can't be 50. If you're in your 40s, I could buy that though you still look to be mid-late 30s at most. I'm 56 and grew up in your current place of residence (SoCal). Amazingly, I stayed out of the sun because not a fan and I turn lobster red anyway. It saved my skin though. I haven't had any procedures or even gone to an aesthetician but am definitely a skincare junkie (including some of the luxury brands, French pharmaceutical brands and K Beauty). Most people place me early-mid 40s. Your skin definitely tells the story. Whatever you're doing is working!
@desistark9 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your note! I’m on the way to being 49. So yes, almost 50. 😀 I’ve stayed mostly out of the sun the last few years but that was not the case before that. I really loved being tanned. 😀

@@desistark You don't even look close to your age then. Well done! So with that said, and given your fantastic results, which skincare products would you recommend for me? I'm 56 (no major wrinkles and just a few lines), fair and dry skin type, and I live in a cold dry climate (Alaska). I've got quite the collection of skincare products and I already exfoliate 2-3x week using ahas. I don't tolerate retinols very well and have never gotten past using them once weekly. My regimen includes growth factors (reviv skin serums), peptides, barrier supporting ingredients, as well as various soothing and calming ingredients. Thinking seriously about trying the calecim creams/serum since I just started using their hair serum. I also have the medicube Age-R Booster Pro. I'm hoping to tighten the skin around my mouth (slightly looser than it once was but no jowls and I still have a strong jawline) and to keep the wrinkles at bay. Do you use light therapy as well?
