With so much money, I'd just distribute my wealth as evenly as possible to entire humanity such that there's no more poor people who die of hunger. The price they pay to earn my money is their restraint to not have more than 1 child per family and to teach this to all their children. This way I help the world reduce it's population and thus control pollution, competition, crimes and many other things that'd otherwise need a divine intervention. I'd just keep only as much as I will ever need to survive a consistently happy life. Perhaps 1 million dollars at most.

I have a strong aversion to handing over money without getting something in return. Even if it's just a bar of chocolate. I did once join a lottery syndicate because we were all desperate to get away from our horrible boss, and decided to try our luck. Between over 20 of us I think we won just £10 here and there over about four years. Nothing more. Mug's game. I have noticed that some people, who have been forever short of money, do go mad when finally they get some. My late partner's daughter burned through the small inheritance he left her in record time, like a kid let loose in a sweet shop. Very soon she had to sell the house he'd left her and return to living in a rented flat in a bad area. Some people are simply not cut out to have money and behave sensibly. I find it very sad that the height of some people's ambition is Vegas, gambling and shows. There's a whole world out there people. Explore it. I do remember that English refuse collector, lol. So glad he wasn't MY neighbour.

Nah that wont work, the money will still be pissed away. This is how you do it right. You find a suitable property that is not in the city. Pay for it with cash, then set up a trust for 100 plus years that pays the property taxes on it with an increasing value of x amount per year, This trust also pays all utilities and maintenance cost along with increase value. This property is now covered by a trust that can not be altered. At a 30k a year for expenses with a 5% increase per year you would need 4 million bucks. This will cover 100 years of this property. With property cost under 1 million you would need 5 million dollars. This is a gross over estimate and will allow the coverage of large maintenance in the coming years. One can increase this cost based on how much one wins and included a car, employees and so on. By doing it this way living is 100% covered by the trust. It does not matter how much money you blow provided you do not get a loan for other stupid stuff... Doing a trust can set up you and a number of people to live a fair life and take care of other family members. You would never have to touch this money and by trust by laws you could not touch this money. This solves most of the lottery winners problems.
@cashflowcentral11664 жыл бұрын
The reason why most people are poor is because they don’t know how to manage their money. So if somebody poor suddenly receives massive amounts of money he will still not be rich for a long time. He will blow it just like he’s currently doing with the money he makes 😌
@colincampbell36794 жыл бұрын
That's not always true.. most people are poor because they don't earn the same as others! Not because they don't know how to manage money! Allot of people in fact manage their limited money income very well. and in those cases they would know how to use money wisely if they had allot of it. I don't earn much, But I was taught how to use what I have and already have a plan of how to use allot if I get it? And No I not interested in fast cars or other silly things that waste money and would use it wisely. So saying poor people can't manage money is not right most can if they can have some more.

I'd get the stipend, and hire a Good accountant/financial advisor to do planning. I'd quite like a PA to TCO bills, argue with the occasional stuffed-shirt official, and coordinate with the accountant. Ignore the advisor if he/she pushes for dicey investments, pay off my bills, get my teeth fixed, shout at the better doctors I can now afford until they help me deal with med issues, get massages (!) at least weekly, and oooh, the upgrades this little house could have! Hire some of the young folks around here to help me clean, upgrade, and do maintenance. A scholar's fund at the local college could be considered! An Artist's Gallery too.Charities I love would get $ (NOT huge sums, but respectable), and I might even buy a building to rent to arts and tech teachers so they could train on current programs etc. By no means the end... OOOH, the things I could do, the places I'd go! And YES, Chocolate of course, and travel. I could probably find a pilot to fly me to places occasionally (I loved driving but sometimes need speed over Road Trip.

There is an old saying that goes along with this, "if you win the lottery, don't quite your day job".

@Andrew_koala right. I don't want to win hundreds of millions of dollars. I would be happy to win the 10s of millions of dollars.

That sounds nice but 314,000,000 would draw people that would want to harm you. Your world would change. Now it wouldn't have to take these people's paths. I like the idea of living simply. And wouldn't you want to create jobs for your fellow humans? You have enough money let someone else have your job.

Years ago I was checking my lottery ticket in Milton, Ontario at a variety store on a windy day while visiting my brother who live in Milton. Another customer enter the store and a gust of wind blew my uncheck lottery ticket behind a freezer. Woman Owner said there's nothing she could do as she not moving the freezer. Few months later my Brother mention to me if I heard about the woman who owns a variety store by his house who won the big jackpot and when they ask her where she bought the ticket she said she was cleaning behind one of her freezer in her store and found the lucky winning ticket. I called OLG lottery and they said there's nothing they could do as they paid out the winning :0( and hard to prove back then ... why Now there new rules added for store owners

You missed "one." I can't mention his name, but as a Casino Pit Manager for roughly 20 years I knew a guy who won the lottery TWICE! 1.6 million the first time, and 800k the second. He spent it all over 1.5 years at the casino I worked at chasing women who were way out of his league and gambling. It wasn't shocking to any of us. We simply watched his destructive behavior day after day in awe.
