The Dumbur is named after the Shiv'jis Dumru, is a wrong concept. The name Dumbur derived from a Tripuri (Kokborok) word "Dungur" which means "deep ditch or pit." The dam "Dumbur" is a hydel project of Tripura State under Amarpur subdivision started in 1976, and the lake is called Dumbur Lake. It is a nice tourist spot in Tripura now and you can enjoy the natural beauty of Dumbur Lake halting in beautiful cottages at Narikel Kunj...
