Dumore Series 11 (vintage?) tool post grinder refurbishment

Taking this seemingly vintage Dumore tool post grinder (unknown age) and refurbishing it for use. This thing was in pretty bad shape. Electrical, lathe work, commutator turning, custom carbon brushes, bearings, all sorts of fun stuff. Dumore doesn't even list a Series 11 so this must be a pretty old unit.

Great video. Love the info and the comedy. I'm getting ready to restore one of these myself and this video is certainly helpful. From the factory, these units often come with multiple pulley sizes and you can change the pulleys at each end (motor and spindle) to get the desired grinding wheel RPM. At 21:41, you can see the motor plate which shows you the motor RPM, and resulting spindle RPM using various pulley sizes. Thanks for sharing. PS - Subscribed

You definitely gave me some ideas on how I should redo mine I've done most of the of the lathe So I think I'll do my grinder pretty much the same way keep being at old school thank you very much it helped out a lot

Nice job resurrecting that tool and probably saving it from the scrap heap. It will now give many more years of service.

Brandon of Inheritance Machining channel has a nice even older one with interchangeable spindles. I’ll keep an eye out for a larger one. This one is small but will work for what I typically do.
