We are at quarters of Philadelphia Fire Department Ladder 16, ES 9, and Medic 46, This Old House, at 2601 Belgrade Street, where we see the entire house as it responds en masse to Box 1786 for a dwelling fire at 2829 North Hancock Street near West Somerset Street. This Box went 2 and 2. The initial run-down of companies assigned to the Box was Engine 2, Engine 25,, Engine 50, Engine 29, Ladder 3, Ladder 12 as the FAST Truck, Battalion 10, Battalion 3, and Medic 31. I am not sure if any other units were assigned once Ladder 16, ES 9, and Medic 46 were assigned to the Box. I am unsure of the outcome of the call, but initial reports suggested that it was a fire in a bathroom. Ladder 16 is a 2018 Pierce Arrow XT tractor drawn aerial with a 102-foot mid-mount stick. Medic 46 is a 2019 Ford F-550 chassis with a Horton body. ES 9 was using a reserve car, which was a 2014 Chevy Silverado. Enjoy the view of the entire house as it runs out, as well as the tones as the run comes in. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on May 18th, 2023.

Only time will tell Christopher, but you mention 2009. It is 2023 with 2024 coming fairly soon. Time has already told.

I love the old houses but they are too crowded for what they squeeze in them. Maybe it is time to build some new ones.

Isn’t it a Horton body on a Ford chassis?

Thanks. Unless I am mistaken, ES, as far as Philadelphia goes, stands for Emergency Supervisor, which is either a Lieutenant or a Captain. A Battalion Chief is in charge of a call area comprised of one full first due assignment, typically three engines and two ladder trucks.

@FL92002 thanks for the info. Battalions are a bit like our group officers in the UK then it would seem. 👍

@@ckrad FL is from NYC or thereabouts. They call it FAST in New England and RIG on the West Coast. Its one of the reasons FEMA wants to standardize the language, because 2/3rds of the nation uses RIT and the rest use something else.
