Just a worm hunting tip. As a kid we'd drive a pitchfork in the ground 4-5 inched then bang on the tines with a hammer. In just a couple a minutes they come crawling to the surface without digging. Something about the vibrations.

When I was little I had a Fisher price gas pump. When you turned the pump it rang a bell. If I cranked it for a while worms would start crawling to the surface. I thought it mimicked the sound of rain and got them to come out

Old skool worm harvesting trick. We used to saw about a dozen notches about an inch apart from each other on the handle of the "worm rake". First you rake away ground litter to get a clear view of the ground. Then flip the rake around and firmly place the butt of the handle on the ground. Now rub a stick up and down the notches on the handle while pressing it into the dirt. The vibration will cause the nightcrawlers to rise up out if the dirt. Thank me later. 👍🏼 ~ JJ

Most gear out isn't useless, but really there are tried and true methods that will always work, then you got the crazy things that can catch a fish, but are more just to make you spend money.

I know this video is not recent but pro tip for next time: if you're looking for worms don't just dig holes but stick your shovel in the ground straight up and wiggle it about for a minute. worms will panic and just crawl out of the ground. Just wiggle it for a minute move over a couple of feet and start wiggling again. You will catch more worms than you will use in about 10 minutes.

having been a retail store manager, they have protocol for destroying returns/damaged items. they usually are to be destroyed to the point of being unusable. those lures you found it that bag were probably going to go to the guy that walked out...he put what he wanted in that bag, tied it up , put it in the trash, took it out to the dumpster knowing the trash day, was coming to get it and seen you guys there by the dumpster.

Tell your friend take a section of his yard and rake the leaves into. It’ll kill the grass, but keep the ground moist. He won’t have to dig after a while, just rake the leaves aside and worm central.
