Near Chicago. I just check 2 indoor dumpsters. I've got enough craft supplies to keep me busy for awhile. My daughter's friend gave us a bag of clothes. We picked a few items, gave a few to friends, the rest went to the Food Pantry. Tina, Al's wife

I always look forward to watching your videos and this one didn't disappoint. Love seeing the fur babies doing their thing. What an eclectic mix from the dumpster gods. Great idea for using the Hops bags to make reusable shopping bags. You could also fill them with soil/compost mix and plant potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, etc.

Nooo! There is NO reason to make a mess; and I KNOW that isn't our favorite couple. So RUDE. I'm so OCD about it that during homelessness during the pandemic, I wandered with rubber gloves, plastic bags and grabbers. I needed something to do besides PANIC and I saw trash on the ground, good ENOUGH reason to get up and do something. Thank you again by raising my spirits by helping you celebrate your treasures! I love the treasure hunt!

You can still use those lids for canning. The two piece ones are prominent here, but you see the one piece ones in other countries.

I was absolutely going to say the same thing. I have used the lids off of Classico pasta sauce. They are the same type of lid and I have reused them at least once if not twice. They make such a great seal that they're actually hard to get off the jars. As long as you keep the lids clean and dry they are reusable until the rubber inside degrades. I have never seen one degrade so I don't know how long that takes. Put them to good use Frugal mommy.

@@deborahlawing2728 The Classico lids also have that "pop up" button and rubber sealing compound inside the lids(like a regular canning lid does). The ones Amy showed rescued from the dumpster do not. Those "one piece" dumpster lids are NOT for canning. They are cheaply made China crap and are only good for jars containing DRY goods(flour,pasta,rice etc). I won't purchase the solid piece lids nor the canning lids that they sell.

Ok, maybe I didn't see what I thought I saw. It looked like the white rubber ring inside the lid was exactly the same. Hard to tell from my phone. Small picture and all. I'm curious how you know that they were made in China? I've used some that looked exactly like the one FM showed that came on quarts of honey. I'm sure she can figure it out. Maybe use on a small jar of jelly or jam so if it doesn't seal she can just stick it in the fridge. 😊

@@deborahlawing2728 My line of thinking for the Dollar Tree canning lids and jars: If they were meant for pressure canning and water bathing why are they sold in the "craft aisles"? This article from Iowa State University from 2 yrs ago: "What About All the Different Brands of Canning Jars and Lids?" "True Living" made the list- "Both jars and lids are made in China and distributed by a company in Tennessee. Lighter in weight than some other brands, they are sometimes found in the craft section of stores rather than the kitchen section. Information on the side of the jar box says “dishwasher safe and BPA free.” Lids have mixed reviews." I frequent Good Will and search for the older canning jars made by Ball and Kerr(I love the old Kerr jars). The older jars of both brands are noticeably heavier than what one can buy today.

I remember in the 70s (1972 to be precise) I went to a birthday party and we each got to draw a picture and then it was magically transferred onto a melamine plate. My drawing was of a rabbit. so picture a big circle for the body and 4 paws sticking out the sides. circle for head and then pointy ears. face with whiskers. Pretty standard. BUT. Inside the body of the rabbit I drew a peace sign. SO basically a big peace sign with rabbit head and paws. Very groovy!!! This plate sat in my mother's dishes cupboard for about 50 years. I threw it away but now I wish I'd kept it so I could display it for you all!!!
