Great for checking! Who knows what craziness they might throw out. In my city, our landfill reached capacity so they had to expand and take over half our dog park. To think most of it is not even real trash. I hate when people discard meat the most because basically those animals died for us just to be tossed in the trash. Hopefully multiple families got to take a bag of pet treats and food. I always worry it's just one person taking all of the good stuff.

Yes! Wow, that is interesting to hear, the point of most of it not even being “trash” is definitely right. When I found all of this I gave some to several friends with dogs, donated some, and sold some. Pretty good distribution of some good stuff!

Yes, I buy food all the time. The things that I find don’t support a full on grocery stock. However when I find a ton of frozen food or drinks, or snacks and candy, then I don’t have to purchase anything like that for months. It depends

Thanks for reaching out! It depends on your state with the law, for me, in California, it’s legal. However I would encourage you to go for it whether it’s technically “allowed” or not. Your choice. Just be careful and know where you should and shouldn’t go. Typically it’s no big deal but again it all depends!

Take to the dog shelter not the pantry

There isn’t an animal shelter near me that would accept this, so the little free pantry is the best place that I could take this, plus I only brought a little bit there. Plenty of people that I know or don’t come through there with dogs that would love this!

Why do places not contact animal shelters or rescues?? 🤔😡 The waste is horrendous and so unnecessary!! We have a pet food giveaway where I live. It helps with the need some, yet there's still more needed. It breaks my heart to see all the waste.

Sadly it’s due to the stores make belief idea that they will face liabilities when donating things. This could’ve been an easy chance to contact a place like that given that all of it is far within date. Anyone should be heartbroken seeing this type of waste, that’s Forsure. Horrendous and unnecessary is right!
