@@Jamie_McElroy most other dumpster divers go to only grocery stores, who throw out a ton of food everyday due to sell by dates, beat up packaging ect. You're gonna dig around a lot and find less useful things when you go to other kind of dumpsters where as at grocery stores you'll always find a massive amount

I used to dumpster dive on overnight delivery route. Once I found 4 cases of Hershey chocolate bars. 3 with almonds,1 plain. Each case had 12 boxes, each box had 24 candy bars. I was the hit Of the neighbor hood on Halloween.

As a prior store detective during inventory we had to physically destroy all items that were out of date, unsellable, or expired. I hated to do that, But that was the only way the store could honestly recoup the monies for the items. We as employees couldn’t dumpster dive any of the products out of the trash but I’m glad for the people that can get items for free

The Hindu gear. Rather than break that collection up by placing a few around here and there to diminish the volume, list them to go as one set. Grab a clean sturdy box from any of those dumpsters which can hold the lot. Be ready to freight those. $ 20.00 plus freight for the lot on ebay, or less formally on Instagram. Some naturopath clinic could use the entire set, particularly at more than the right price. Sorts out their decor motif for less than fifty and it jives with their rainforest music.

Me yelling to the screen again! Take that black crate. So handy to put the paintings in and safe room in your car! To handle haevy bags and boxes, a rake would be so helpful. And try to remember to use your arm uscles and not your spine and neck. I love watching you. Always that lovely smile on your face. Sell by dates can be ignored. Hope you're feeling better! Just a heads up, after Easter, cvs tosses more candy than you can imagine. The first after Easter I discovered this, I brought home HUNDREDS of pounds of candy. The reason I even looked was because it was hanging out of the dumpster door and caught my attention. You can always use the frames for something else as well. I've seen people take gift bags that are beautifully decorated and cut them to fit frames making it look like an expensive art piece.

we used to dive many years ago before it was cool. i can tell you this, many employees do that and send their family to come to grab it later. it was a huge problem with discount stores back in the day like Kmart, and then they wonder why the stores went out of business? Looks like you got a good haul...try the college campuses in the springtime, especially behind the big fraternity and sorority houses. the bigger universities are the best, those kids throw EVERYTHING away!

You can also DIY with the artwork and paint over them in white and then create your own paintings, especially with the ones made out of MDF. They are the perfect size for signs, too. You could write, stencil or use vinyl letters over the paint and give them edifying phrases or even Thanksgiving and Christmas pictures or sayings, too!

If an employee comes out, my diving partner and I usually just say “hi” and keep on diving. If they ask what we’re doing we say looking for boxes or we tell the truth that we’re diving. Most of the time they don’t say anything but we have had a bath and body works employee get rude and threaten to call the police. But it’s legal where we live, so not sure what the cops would’ve done. But we respectfully left. 😕

Put all of your candy in the freezer! Doesn’t matter if they are expired, candy is good up to 2 years past the expiration dates....as long as you keep them in the freezer, yes even the plastic eggs!
