Dumpster Diving in New York & Visiting Punxsy Phil the Groundhog!

We had fun dumpster diving in New York and Pennsylvania and especially loved getting to visit Punxsutawney Phil the famous groundhog! Bones had a great time exploring and it was his first time seeing a groundhog in person, how fun!

We just had a groundhog baby under our spare room and my 80lb husky tried to make dinner out of it. Luckily I got her off of it and it finally left out property. The squeal really loud. I was in tears because I thought it might be hurt but it wasn’t.

I can't believe you came up to my neck of the woods and didn't say hey! I live in the county just underneath Ashtabula in Trumbull County just off the 5 freeway, off Elm Rd.! Our town is Warren, Ohio where you can always find a Walmart! Lol! I hope you enjoy your vacation just the same. Be safe❤!

My parents used to trailer travel with their cat, 10 year I think. He loved it. They are all too old so they are home bodies now. All 3 are hard of hearing so they talk/meow loudly 😂

That umbrella is made like that, it's made so when you come in from the rain, the water drains out. If you push it up, it will be a regular umbrella, I have one of them.

Besides the Groundhog Phil predicts the weather, there's another about whether it was going to be a Harsh Winter, It says that if the Acorns are bigger than normal & there is Plenty (aka A Shit Ton!, lol) of them dropping everywhere. This means the coming Winter is going to be Harsh! I grew up hearing Old Wives Tales like these, by my Grandma, Great-Grandma & Aunts since I could talk & understand. Every year I pay attention about the size & how much the acorns come down, since following it & realize its correct every year! Good 'ol Memories from my Childhood!

Punxy is my hometown. Yes, Phil and Phyllis had two babies this year. And Alex pronounced the town perfectly. And that is the public library so you can see him from inside too.

Niagra falls is spectacular! The umbrella you said was broken is supposed to be that way. You stand it up to allow the water to drain. It's actually a pretty cool design

You should have taken the silk flowers, they are very expensive to buy and loved by most crafters.

You could have also placed them in the basketball. No need to trim the opening just let the foliage drape over the edges ad viola a really cool planter!❤❤❤

Every time Bones meows my dogs get very excited and look for the cat! Glad your roadtrip is going well. We agree that Allegheny is beautiful. We have camped there numerous times. Canada has Groundhog Day too. I had to google to see its origins. It was brought to Pennsylvania by German immigrants, where it’s been a tradition since the Middle Ages!

I've enjoyed Niagra Falls a few times, the first-time, I was about 10 and I got lost. The second time, I was in my 20's and did not get lost. We saw the American Falls and also went into them on one of the maidens of the mist. I love waterfalls anyway, so going to see it was so wonderfully overwhelming! We stayed in a Motel in the center of New York and as we walked, we saw our family name up in lights.....on a bakery! Such a cool trip! I hope you continue to enjoy trips while you are young. When I was young, we lived overseas for my Fathers career and we traveled a lot. I was able to see Germany, France and Switzerland. There is so much to see in our Country but I hope you can visit several countries overseas at some point. There is just so much beauty that GOD created for us to enjoy!

I work with animal rescues and while I think you are excellent pet parents, may I suggest a harness for Bones that covers his chest. I’ve seen them wiggle out of regular neck harness, never underestimate them. 😊

You guys need to watch the movie.. Groundhogs Day. I really like it. And a tip for cleaning the rug. You can take it to one of the car wash’s that has the do it yourself and clean away. Then hang it at home to dry. And there you go all clean.

What a great video. Bones looks like he has been road tripping for ever. We have possums and sometimes Koalas that use our roof as a short cut. We forgot until we were sitting our Daughter's little dog. He was very excited. (and a tad noisy). :)

I would use a harness and not a collar for walks with Bones. 1 his trachea is under the collar and can be injured and 2 it is more likely he can slip out of his colar

Phil predicted an early Spring this year. Over the years, he has been correct 39% of the time. Lol It's a fun tradition but I still don't like seeing the ground hogs in a small enclosure for peoples pleasure instead of being free and in their natural environment. Bones is so cute he sure is a great traveler we went to Oklahoma from Cincinnati Ohio with 6 cats a dog and 2 ducks lol they were a great choir the hole😊 time lol we had to stop every 2 hours to sprinkle the ducks with water and clean the cat carriers lol

I’m a diver in WNY. You were at a new-ish mall there (I recognize it) that was designed with more compactors and just generally fewer stores than the McKinley mall area, a few miles up the road. There’s Michael’s, JoAnn’s, Five Below, Aldi, Dollar Tree, Barnes and Noble, Home Goods, Party City and Office Max just up the way!

So funny, that plaza is where I take my pup to the vet inside of petsmart. I also dove there a bunch at the Ulta dumpster also the health store, which was one of those dumpster I’ve found vitamins, protein powders also assortments of protein bars.
