Did a dumpster dive at Michaels (we are in the Chicago suburbs). The day before I had asked the manager if they had any $5 clearance boxes to sell and he said no, they sold out last week. Went again today and asked the same question - he again said no they were sold out. I checked the dumpster (which was empty last night) and found about 40 of their $5 clearance boxes and several of their pre-made wreaths. Needless to say, I filled my car as much as I could and now I have flowers for our wreath making class at church. Thanks Michaels! I sure hope someone else found the 30 boxes I had to leave behind. Thanks you guys for inspiring me to start dumpster diving!

Steph. Something I do with old t-shirts I love... I make it into one of those scarves that you sew the ends together. It's like a big O, and you put it around your neck once or twice if there is enough material. So easy, and so comfy. I wear them around the house when I get a chill or I'm not feeling so well.

Hi Steph and Steve, I hope you two are doing good!!! THANK YOU FOR ALL THE RESCUING YOU DO!!! YOU GUYS ARE THEEE BEST❤ Shame on Old Navy for being so incredibly wasteful but you can use the material to make throw rugs. Just cut them in strips and use a 4 strand braid. JUST tie new pieces of material as you go along when they get short. You can look on You Tube for video directions. They are great for the bathroom and for the dogs too. I also make them with plastic bags that are no longer usable and that's what I use outside. They last forever and just spay with water to clean. They really are amazing and all recycled and free to make.

Why can't people just donate the toys and clothing to Ophanges, Police stations , Churches and even Firehouses; cause with all the homeless and Now the wild fires 🔥, people are in need of stuff. You can attach the table to the wall with a bar brace and use only one side of legs, mainly for a bedside table. Maybe you can still use that pretty table that is missing the one leg panel.

My dad was in the Navy during WWII he bought an Old Navy shirt and the wrote VERY VERY over the word OLD. My dad would have been 100 this past August 18th he made it to 94 & 3/12ths. I really wish Old Navy & other stores that destroy their clothes would just donate them or cut the tags out so they can’t be returned this wanton destruction is so disheartening and unnecessary.

The table with the “circle” legs (the one with the one leg broken) 6:57 could be turned into wall art. Attach the “circle” leg to the flat side of the table and paint them.

For the old navy slashed clothes, maybe if it’s able to form into a sock-like shape, if you fill it with rice and tie it off at the top, humane societies and pounds use them for heating pads for puppies, kittens and other animals that may have gotten surgery!

@@marleyteee9617 you just start with the small ideas till you get comfortable with tools and skills once you master that you will be unstoppable! Never get discouraged by things that don't turn out the 1st time way you invision them. NO ONE masters anything they attempt the 1st time. Also check your local hardware stores many of them have work shops geared to women and helping get comfortable with tools.
