Scored a new job today. Went hunting for scrap down a road to industrial park on my way to scrap yard…. First place I drive behind they are piling lights outside. They said I can have them and I’ll be picking up lights from every new job they get. They want them gonna and I’m their guy! These are the nice cast aluminum high bay lighting

As a trash man, I don’t mind loose trash in dumpsters or carts. It’s when people cut the bags on the streets for the bulky program. That just makes it harder to pick up since they are cut. Not so easy to throw

That DJ gear can be worth good money. depending on brand of those speakers could be worth 300 to 1200 dollars. and the speakers should be fine with cleaning and reglue of the fabric.

Watching the section of the dumpster with the bag of stripped wire. Because of the value of the copper wire and wire in general, they may have a service that gives work to maybe unfortunate people and share the profits. Just a thought. Also, when you do your home breakdown of the stuff you picked up and get ready for the scrap yard, put your pups in for cameo shots. It wouldn't take up a lot of time and would give us an update as to how they are doing.

The silver colored mesh wire under the first layer of insulation is copper. The center solid wire has iron in it. in the coax wire.

I have a QWERK! Ever watch someone fall and you feel it? You see a skateboarded jump off a stair rail and they land on their feet and you go OUCH, I felt that. I have that qwerk bad. When Mike jumps out of the dumpster, the bottom of my feet go "ouch" when he hits the pavement. haha, weird. I have no idea why that make me empathize with their falls/jumps. IF someone would have told me 30 years ago that one day I would be laying back and watching a guy scrap metals and dumpster dive, I would have laughed. IT'S REAL! I'm a huge fan!
