Venue: Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía, Madrid 09/12/2010
R. M. Glier: 2 Morceaux for double bass and piano op. 9 - 1. Intermezzo
Abstract:
Professor McTier talks about dynamics, sound and contrast in phrasing. He comments that certain notes must be anticipated so that they do not come in late, being slightly ahead of the pulse, and always thinking forward. In some more expressive moments, more sound is necessary, not closing the phrase ending so much. For this, the left hand needs to be stronger.
