i hadn't seen dvilles show this year and while watching prelims today i was SHOCKED by that screamer during the come together section and i had to come rewatch it 😭

How much do the drops hurt a performance? I'm not versed on scoring. I'm just curious. Shout out to the kids for their determination and commitment to present such an inspiring performance.

So with marching band each overall aspect has a different score making one overall score (woodwinds ,brass ,ensemble, percussion, guard ect.) This being the case the colour guard judge will determine how much a drop affects the guard score. For instance if a soloist drops their flag it might cost more then if someone back field drops; however, If there is a section in the show where a group of people consistently drop flags sabers ect. then you can 100% count on a deduction of more points depending on the point system. basically the more people who drop and the closer together the drops are, the higher point deduction.
