Dune du Pyla

If anyone is interested in visiting the highest Sand Dune in Europe then a trip to Pyra on the west coast of France is well worth the effort.
This video shows the approach to Pyra and Motorhome parking on the site close to the dune.
Steps lead up the dune to give a spectacular view over the Atlantic on one side and the forests on the other side.
Rolling down the dune is optional but many thousands of children, and adults, seem to enjoy the experience every year.
The picture quality on this KZbin video is considerably worse than the original Videos recorded on my Dash Camera.
I have managed to improve the quality on later Videos and will try to repost this Video in improved format if requested.

I first went there with my Renault Traffic motorhome (5 berth) in 1987, and in those days they were no steps, you had to make your own way up the side of dune, but what a view, as you say kids like to roll down, my lad rolled down to the sea with the dog, me and the wife just sat on the top, to get our breath back ( I was 39 at the time ), I am now 69 so when we go to France this summer ( in our VW Compass Navigator (5 berth )) we will miss this one out, even if it as got steps, I may go in a few years time as they may have an escalator by then LOL, but many thanks for the upload, it brought back happy memories, we love France, Spain, Andorra and Portugal, we are so lucky as we are now both retired we can go and stay where we want, for as long as we want, I hope one day you get to that stage, but in the meantime keep on camping and once again many thanks for all your effort in the uploading, Bob
