I went and watched the second movie yesterday with one of my good friends. Saw it in IMAX too. Several times that theater shook like there was an earthquake. Other than Top Gun Maverick, this was probably the loudest and best movie I’ve ever seen

Obviously Shai-Hulud don't move by pulsating or some any other contortion of their tube bodies, sand compacts too much for that; they propel themselves electrically, duh. Sand is also too heavy for a hollow tube to be self supporting, it needs to be filled with, wait for it, sand that is as compact as the sand outside the body. Continuous magnetoparticldynamic forces orient and compact the individual friction inducing sand particles away from the interior and exterior barrel surfaces of the worm. The forces generated by the ring segments and fields traveling down the anterior facing inner "teeth" act to displace the worm by reaction against the sand particles both inside the cavity and outside of the worm body. There isn't a big rooster tail of sand shooting out of Shai-Hulud's ass so it's not working like a jacuzzi pump, rather it's more like the caterpillar drive in Red October, if the drive was acting on the outside of the sub as much as the pump inside.

Yes the little makers look cute when they're only a couple meters long but we ask that people don't release them into the wild just because they are getting too big to care for. They are considered an invasive species and can do great harm to the planet's ecosystem. Call an animal control specialist !
