Tanks Pete, I also have been to both, including Oregon multiple time. Love them all, but its hard to beet home, Dumont is special to me. I have alway had a hard time getting that great flowing run at Glamis. Saint Anthony is on my list as well as Coral Pink and Utah trail riding. Hopefully heading to Mammoth area this summer.

As you all mentioned it is like night and day... not really the same. It isn't about the volume of sand to me, but rather what style of riding you prefer...I grew up going to both but my heart is in Dumont... My preference is fast flowing dunes and of course the razor backs! I still have yet to visit St. Anthony's but am planning on it next season... I hear that place takes the crown!

St. Anthony is like the vastness of Glamis, with tall, steep dunes like Dumont. Its actually difficult to drive through the middle of the dunes because they are so tall and steep. St. Anthony also has areas with full hook ups with water and power right next to the dunes which makes it nice, plus the amazing views of the Grand Teton mountains in the distance.

If ya have enough gas it's really neat to run down the middle of the dunes to Duners Diner and back. Don't think I'd hold up any more these days it would really wear me out. Back in the 90's before the wall we'd run clear to where the sand ran out in the Mexico fields.

I’ve never been to dumont. But I have been to Glamis a crap load of times for years. Since the 80’s . I have also been to St Anthony once and really want to go back there sometime soon hopefully. Which one do you like better? St Anthony or Glamis? Hard to compare to Glamis but St Anthony is great! I remember being able to dune in Mexico before that wall went up. Through Butter Cup so much fun!
@LiveLikePete Жыл бұрын
Oh hands down, I like St Anthony's the most. Those dunes are awesome. The dunes there are the biggest and fastest. They flow like Dumont but even bigger and you can dune for about an hour at a good place before running out of sand.
@martinvaldez7202 Жыл бұрын
I agree, you really can’t compare Dumont to Glamis as they both have great things about them like at Dumont big huge cereal bowls monster walls, G town has its own things, I go mostly to Glamis as it’s closer but always find myself crossing the running waters to get to Dumont 💙
@LiveLikePete Жыл бұрын
Well said. They are so different it's like comparing apples to oranges. It shouldn't even be a discussion but I hear it talked about all the time. Lots of people seem to have a certain pride in the place they always ride at. That's cool but I love all places that we are able to legally shred! 🤷♂️🤟

It does not but running it that low is very rare. The tank is also only like 2 feet wide, if that. It wouldn't be worth cutting the tank all apart. It's only happened like twice in 14 years of owning this car. 😄 Thanks! We might be back in January. Would be cool to link up with other Glamis guys. 🤟

@LiveLikePete Жыл бұрын
And Glamis does not compare to Dumont. 😆 They both have their strengths and weaknesses. The size of the dunes at Glamis actually seem much smaller to me compared to Dumont. We get going way faster at D with the exception of Osborne/ Devil's Bowl area at G. I think I've camped down in wash 14 once and it was cool. I'll have to try 9/10 area next trip.

@mikemiller9119 Жыл бұрын
@@LiveLikePete are you a man? There is something to say about being a man. We challenge ourselves to become better at what we do. Becoming better at what we do is the ultimate “fun”. Being a pansy or mediocre of what you do is not “fun”. It literally creates an acceptance of people that are weak. You sir, or ma’am at this point are weak and celebrate your weakness. 90% of people that go out to the dunes are followers that need to be in some kind of club. They need to belong to something, doesn’t matter what it is, just as long as people accept them. This is why there are so many that go out there and show of their pretty ride and let it sit at the bottom of comp hill while they sit there and talk to everyone that will listen. Then they go back to their campsite, load up and do again next time. I can go on and on about these type of people like yourself, but I do have value my time a little more than that. So I’ll let you say what you like to get the last word to make yourself feel better. But at the end of the day, everyone knows your type. Sheeple👋🏻
