One of the great things about this adventure is the start. The body of a dead hobgoblin killed by a crossbow trap holds open a secret door. This is great because it telegraphs the coming experience to the players. There will be traps, deadly ones. There will be secret doors. And there will be monsters.

Awesome video Professor! Loved all the cameos (and the call out to Capt., his videos on the Goodman Games version of this where what led me to buy it). I somehow missed this adventure back in the day when it first came out, I am sure I would have loved it had I found it. I have been running my son (who is almost 12) and a group of his friends through the 5e version and they have been enjoying it a lot. So far they are only on Tier 4, and on tiers 2 & 3 they also skipped over some things. They have made connections with the Magi (first faction they encountered) and the Brotherhood, but have yet to meet the Warrior Maidens. I have been making use of the factions they have met to help guide them on where to go through the factions asking them to complete tasks (such as mapping out the floor plan for Tier 4). Plan to use this a lot when they finally get to the lost city itself and start really learning more about what all is going on.

Great video! One of your best, PDM! I ran this adventure for my friends back in the late 1980's. They made it through all of the pyramid and the inverted pyramid, having the final battle with Zargon. They won the fight, but as I recall, one of the PCs perished. Never explored the underground city, but I've been thinking of revisiting the story again, as the heroes never learned they had to drop Zargon's horn in the underground volcano, so Zargon has since regenerated and returned to power. It may be time for a new group of adventurers to find the Lost City.

I placed Lost City B4 in Dwellers of the Forbidden City I1 which I placed on Isle of Dread X1, but they only got there after satiating their curiosity on The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan C1 which I stuck in the Tanaroa village! I had them attain hero status after having them enter a portal from Tale of the Comet. I have since had them start up new characters with two playing original races from my Lost City, Ophidians & Morlocks. All done with my own homebrew rules BeaR-PiGS!

Slick production that keeps the whole thing moving while also pacing it out appropriately? Yes, yes, yes! More of this, please! Also, free idea: some sort of collaboration for a campaign or setting where the Professor and other RPG channels take turns creating various elements. One person shares a portion like the environment, backstory, factions, etc. and then each video ends with an "over to you (name)" moment to intro the next creator who will say when that video will go live. End result: the rough outline of an original campaign or setting that DMs/GMs can run with to make it their own. I would watch!

This is probably your best video so far. The miniatures looked great. The guest commentary was a nice touch. And there was a great mix between story description and “under the hood” dungeon mastering. I got to play this about 3 months ago for the first time. But we only played one 2.5 hour session. We only got to the stingbat encounter. Afterwards, the rest of the group complained that the rules sucked (i.e. Wah! It’s not 5e! It’s B/X D&D!), the adventure was boring, and that they weren’t going to play anymore. By comparison, the video illustrates these guys were clearly unimaginative impatient wankers who didn’t know what they were missing.

Nice work Professor and everyone. A couple of notes: at the beginning you mentioned that the module is more of a sword and sorcery style (which I totally agree on) but the later feeling is that you guys delivered more of an epic fantasy flavour. Also, four sessions feels like a considerable rush for a sandbox, so I just assume everyone, DM and players, kind of was "focused" to end the dungeon, right? All things considered, however, amazing job, hope to see more content like this one.

I ran this like 3-4 years ago(early covid) and converted it to The Fantasy Trip...They united the factions, then left to hit other campaign plots, with the idea they would return to help confront the Zargon faction...never made it back. It was a great starter story to suck in the players, though.
