The lich meets Death who tells it “Immortality doesn’t imply eternity.”

Just what I needed for my wizard player who announced last session that he was on a quest to become a lich

I was listening to this in the background on auto play and did not realize this isn't vampire the masquerade lore until he mentioned the party barbarian wanting a better sword.

I've heard that, in the positive energy plane, mini souls are constantly coming into existance only to instantly colapse. I wonder if a Lich could create a gate to the positive energy plane and feed those souls to their philactary.

My favorite BBEG was a Liched Bard named Frankenfurter. Those sessions were astounding, time was fleeting, madness takes it's tole, but listen closely... BARD LICH?!?!? impossible. DM is more powerful than any and all D&D gods combined, and evil wizard/necromancer cult, experimental rituals, funded by an elderly King, an unfortunate Bard captured in the woods and subject to well, a fate more than death.

Pathfinder was here, we did this shit back in 2010.

@@ScottBoydathome I did it in 1993, Senior year of Highschool, and by "this shit" do you mean variant lich or rip off a major cult movie classic for a tabletop session?

@@Joshua-fo9zw Fun Fact (Or not so fun): In the middle ages there was a strange disease that make people play music and dance until death (real). Thou it was a short period it was concluded the cure was to host partys and celebrations and suddenly the cases were gone.

Would divine intervention work for destroying a phylactery?
@theashspawn5 ай бұрын
How to destroy a phylactery can actually be different to each Lich. Some might be quite easy to destroy (for a Lich) others can have a whole campaign based around it. So if a wish spell or divine intervention are used than its really up to the DM if it works or not. However if it is a particualy powerful Lich that cant be destroyed in such a way then using this would tell you the location of the phylactery instead and maybe how you can destroy it.
@Florian07995 ай бұрын
@@theashspawn Are there also phylacteries than that are utterly impossible to destroy?
@theashspawn5 ай бұрын
@@Florian0799 as far as I'm aware no. There is always a way to destroy a phylactery even if the Lich doesn't know it. But not only are there ways from them to still come back like something akin to a clone spell (although if you get them after that they might be gone for good). But they could also just make another phylactery despite how difficult it is.
@Florian07995 ай бұрын
@@theashspawn So in essence turn them into a mindflayer and then kill them to be sure that they are gone for good? After all souls vanish after ceremorphosis.

Can sorcerers become liches?
@theashspawn3 ай бұрын
Technically yes but it would require you to take some levels in wizard. You need to have some wizardry arcane knowledge to do so but you dont need to be a full one
